Wavefront image sensor chip [PDF]
We report the implementation of an image sensor chip, termed wavefront image sensor chip (WIS), that can measure both intensity/amplitude and phase front variations of a light wave separately and quantitatively.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

A method for the visualization of high phase gradients in a microscopic image [PDF]
Holografická mikroskopie je nekonvenční mikroskopická technika, vhodná zvláště pro vzorky s malou optickou hustotou, která umožňuje zviditelnit index lomu pozorovaných objektů.

Plasmonic metagratings for simultaneous determination of Stokes parameters
Measuring light's state of polarization is an inherently difficult problem, since the phase information between orthogonal polarization states is typically lost in the detection process.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Diffusion pore imaging with generalized temporal gradient profiles
In porous material research, one main interest of nuclear magnetic resonance diffusion (NMR) experiments is the determination of the shape of pores. While it has been a longstanding question if this is in principle achievable, it has been shown recently ...

Smooth-Particle Phase Stability with density and density-gradient potentials [PDF]
Stable fluid and solid particle phases are essential to the simulation of continuum fluids and solids using Smooth Particle Applied Mechanics. We show that density-dependent potentials, such as Phi=(1/2)Sum (rho-rho_0)^2, along with their corresponding ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Investigating Pressure Gradient Dynamics in Two-phase Fluid Flow through Porous Media: An Experimental and Numerical Analysis [PDF]
This study investigates pressure gradient dynamics within a porous medium in the context of two-phase fluid flow, specifically water and sand particle interactions.
