High Precision DEM Generation Algorithm Based on InSAR Multi-Look Iteration

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2017
Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) is one of the most sufficient technologies to provide global digital elevation modeling (DEM). It unwraps the interferometric phase to provide observations for phase-to-height conversion.

Droplet motion with phase change in a temperature gradient [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2005
We examine the droplet motion in one-component fluids in a small temperature gradient by solving linearized hydrodynamic equations supplemented with appropriate surface boundary conditions. We show that the velocity field and the temperature around the droplet are strongly influenced by first-order phase transition taking place at the interface. Latent

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Active Landslide Mapping Along the Karakoram Highway Alternate Route in North Pakistan; Implications for the Expansion of China−Pakistan Economic Corridor

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Slowly moving active landslides threaten infrastructure, particularly along highway routes traversing active mountainous ranges. Detecting and characterizing such landslides in highly elevated mountainous terrains is challenging due to their ...

Diffusion pore imaging with generalized temporal gradient profiles

open access: yes, 2013
In porous material research, one main interest of nuclear magnetic resonance diffusion (NMR) experiments is the determination of the shape of pores. While it has been a longstanding question if this is in principle achievable, it has been shown recently ...

Full-Duplex Nonreciprocal Beam Steering by Time-Modulated Phase-Gradient Metasurfaces

open access: yesPhysical Review Applied, 2019
We present the concept, theoretical model and experimental implementation of a full-duplex nonreciprocal-beam-steering transmissive phase-gradient metasurface.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Risk assessment of building and infrastructure using InSAR-derived deformation gradients and pattern variations in the Beijing plain, China

open access: yesInternational Journal of Digital Earth
Ground surface deformation and spatial differential deformation pose significant risks to urban buildings and infrastructures. Previous studies analyzed deformation risks using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) but often lacked integration

Phase coexistence of gradient Gibbs states

open access: yes, 2005
We consider the (scalar) gradient fields $\eta=(\eta_b)$--with $b$ denoting the nearest-neighbor edges in $\Z^2$--that are distributed according to the Gibbs measure proportional to $\texte^{-\beta H(\eta)}\nu(\textd\eta)$.

Statics and dynamics of phase segregation in multicomponent fermion gas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We investigate the statics and dynamics of spatial phase segregation process of a mixture of fermion atoms in a harmonic trap using the density functional theory. The kinetic energy of the fermion gas is written in terms of the density and its gradients.
