Design and characterization of ceramic hollow fiber membrane derived from waste ash using phase inversion-based extrusion/sintering technique for water filtration

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2021
Low-cost green ceramic hollow fiber membranes (CHFM) were successfully designed and fabricated from the industrial waste ash, palm oil fuel ash (POFA) via phase inversion-based extrusion/sintering techniques for water filtration application.

Rheology and Catastrophic Phase Inversion of Emulsions in the Presence of Starch Nanoparticles

open access: yesChemEngineering, 2020
Emulsions stabilized by solid nanoparticles, referred to as Pickering emulsions, are becoming increasingly important in applications as they are free of surfactants.

Preparation and Properties of Thin-Film Composite Forward Osmosis Membranes Supported by Cellulose Triacetate Porous Substrate via a Nonsolvent-Thermally Induced Phase Separation Process

open access: yesMembranes, 2022
A porous substrate plays an important role in constructing a thin-film composite forward osmosis (TFC-FO) membrane. To date, the morphology and performance of TFC-FO membranes are greatly limited by porous substrates, which are commonly fabricated by non-

Phase inversion in liquid phase for air-liquid horizontal flow

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2020
This project is primarily aimed at determining the effect of phase inversion on oil-water dispersion from a three-phase mixture comprising of an oil-water emulsion at different oil percentages and air at varying liquid and gas flowrates through a ...

Solvent-Resistant UV-Cured Polysulfone Support Membranes Using a Green Solvent

open access: yesMembranes, 2021
Solvent-resistant UV-cured supports consisting of a semi-interpenetrating network of polysulfone (PSf) and cross-linked poly-acrylate were successfully synthesized for the first time using an alternative, non-reprotoxic, and biodegradable solvent ...

A New Insight into Morphology of Solvent Resistant Nanofiltration (SRNF) Membranes: Image Processing Assisted Review [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2016
The aim of this review is to investigate the morphological properties of polyimide based SRNF membranes by mean of image processing. Effect of phase inversion parameters like polymer concentration, volatile co-solvent, pre-evaporation time, additives in ...

Inverse Alexander phase detector [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2016
An improved bang‐bang phase detector (PD) for multi Gb/s clock and data recovery (CDR) circuits is presented. The proposed PD is based on inverting the Alexander PD. In a typical subsampled CDR circuit, this Inverse Alexander PD results in a ten times better bit error rate (BER) compared with the conventional Alexander PD.

Morphological characterization of a polymeric microfiltration membrane by synchrotron radiation computed microtomography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Most commercial polymeric membranes are prepared by phase inversion. The performance of the membranes depends greatly on the morphology of the porous structure formed during the different steps of this process.

Robust wavefield inversion via phase retrieval [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 2020
SUMMARY Extended formulation of full waveform inversion (FWI), called wavefield reconstruction inversion (WRI), offers potential benefits of decreasing the non-linearity of the inverse problem by replacing the explicit inverse of the wave-equation operator of classical FWI (the oscillating Green functions) with a suitably defined data ...

Influence of the Natural Zeolite Particle Size Toward the Ammonia Adsorption Activity in Ceramic Hollow Fiber Membrane

open access: yesMembranes, 2020
Natural zeolite is widely used in removing ammonia via adsorption process because of its superior ion-exchange properties. Ceramic particle size affects the adsorptivity of particles toward ammonia. In this study, hollow fiber ceramic membrane (HFCM) was
