Phase Shifts in Stochastic Resonance [PDF]
The response of an overdamped bistable system to a periodic force is investigated using linear-response theory and by analog electronic experiment. It is shown, both theoretically and experimentally that a phase lag phi exists between the force and the response, and that |phi| passes through a maximum when the noise intensity is tuned through the range

The phase shift induced by a single atom in free space [PDF]
In this article we theoretically study the phase shift a single atom imprints onto a coherent state light beam in free space. The calculations are performed in a semiclassical framework.

Celestial Spectrum Velocimetry With Non-Linear Fourier Phase Shift and Its CRLB
To solve the problem of the non-linear Fourier phase shift caused by the wavelength shift in the celestial spectrum velocimetry, a celestial spectrum velocimetry method based on non-uniform discrete Fourier transform and compressed sensing is proposed ...

Sleep Deprivation Does Not Influence Photic Resetting of Circadian Activity Rhythms in Drosophila
Previous investigations in humans and rodent animal models have assessed the interplay of sleep in the circadian system’s phase responses to nighttime light exposure.

Zebrafish Circadian Clock Entrainment and the Importance of Broad Spectral Light Sensitivity
One of the key defining features of an endogenous circadian clock is that it can be entrained or set to local time. Though a number of cues can perform this role, light is the predominant environmental signal that acts to entrain circadian pacemakers in ...

Momentum Dependence of Phase Shifts [PDF]
A lower limit is found for the momentum derivative of the scattering phase shifts of a relativistic neutral two-particle system when the interaction is of finite range.

Phase-shift extraction for phase-shifting interferometry by histogram of phase difference
We propose a non-iterative approach to extract the unknown phase shift in phase shifting interferometry without the assumption of equal distribution of measured phase in [0,2π]. According to the histogram of the phase difference between two adjacent frames, the phase shift can be accurately extracted by finding the bin of histogram with the highest ...
