Synchronous Phase Shift at LHC

open access: yes, 2013
The electron cloud in vacuum pipes of accelerators of positively charged particle beams causes a beam energy loss which could be estimated from the synchronous phase.

Snapshot phase-shifting diffraction phase microscope

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2020
We propose a novel and simple snapshot phase-shifting diffraction phase microscope with a polarization grating and spatial phase-shifting technology. Polarization grating separates the incident beam into left and right circular polarization beams, one of which is used as the reference beam after passing through a pinhole.

Phase Shifts in Stochastic Resonance [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1992
The response of an overdamped bistable system to a periodic force is investigated using linear-response theory and by analog electronic experiment. It is shown, both theoretically and experimentally that a phase lag phi exists between the force and the response, and that |phi| passes through a maximum when the noise intensity is tuned through the range

Light sets the brain’s daily clock by regional quickening and slowing of the molecular clockworks at dawn and dusk

open access: yeseLife, 2021
How daily clocks in the brain are set by light to local environmental time and encode the seasons is not fully understood. The suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) is a central circadian clock in mammals that orchestrates physiology and behavior in tune with ...

Measurement of the Transmission Phase of an Electron in a Quantum Two-Path Interferometer

open access: yes, 2015
A quantum two-path interferometer allows for direct measurement of the transmission phase shift of an electron, providing useful information on coherent scattering problems.

Four-phase differential phase shift resolver [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Two systems have been developed to resolve phase uncertainty without transmitting reference signals. In both methods signal is impressed on carrier as differential, rather than absolute, phase shift.

Momentum Dependence of Phase Shifts [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review, 1955
A lower limit is found for the momentum derivative of the scattering phase shifts of a relativistic neutral two-particle system when the interaction is of finite range.

Dexamethasone for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Prevention in Pediatric Patients: International Consensus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An international Delphi panel of experts developed consensus statements to delineate the circumstances where the risks of dexamethasone as an antiemetic do and do not outweigh its benefits. Procedure Experts in supportive care of pediatric patients were invited to participate.

Adherence to Protocol Recommendations for Children With Wilms Tumour in Two Consecutive Studies in the United Kingdom and Ireland—Does Variation Matter?

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Wilms tumour (WT) has excellent event‐free and overall survival (OS). However, small differences exist between countries participating in the same international study. This led us to examine variation in adherence to protocol recommendations as a potential contributing factor.
