Phase Shifter Merging

Journal of Electronic Testing, 2005
Phase shifters are used in conjunction with Linear Feedback Shift Registers and Cellular Automata in order to impose sufficient channel separations on the bit sequences produced by their successive cells. The aim is to reduce structural correlations and/or linear dependencies that are problematic for pseudorandom and pseudoexhaustive built-in test ...

Phase shifter calibration in phase-shifting interferometry

Applied Optics, 1985
This paper describes some practical methods to calibrate the phase shifter in phase-shifting interferometry (PSI). The phase shifter used in the experiment is a piezoelectric transducer (PZT) that has a nonlinearity of

MEMS variable-capacitor phase shifters part II: Reflection-type phase shifters

International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering, 2003
A novel design procedure for reflection-type phase shifters using capacitive devices is developed. Using this approach, a phase shifter for operation at 26.5 GHz is developed using MEMS variable capacitors reported in Part I of this article. A design optimization procedure is discussed.

Phase shifters for dielectric guides

IEE Proceedings H Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1991
A phase shifter has been designed to give a constant phase over the octave bandwidth 70-140 GHz in dielectric guide. The phase shifter was designed for use in a multistate reflectometer in dielectric guide, though other applications are possible. The multistate reflectometer required two less power meters than a previous six-port reflectometer.

A Frequency-Controlled Ultrawide Bandwidth Phase Shifter: Phase Shifting Without a Phase Shifter?

29th European Microwave Conference, 1999, 1999
We present in this paper results about a high-frequency analog phase shifter suitable for multi-octave operation. Principles of this ultrawide bandwidth phase shifter are based upon the use of a frequency-tunable local oscillator (LO) feeding a delay element. Through proper frequency variation, two coherent phase-shifted LO signals are produced.

MEMS variable-capacitor phase shifters part I: Loaded-line phase shifter

International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering, 2003
This article describes the design and characterization of a continuously variable loaded-line phase shifter using micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) variable capacitors as phase shifting components. The design and characterization of micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) variable capacitors for operation at 26.5 GHz is described.

Analog varactor phase shifter

2017 Progress In Electromagnetics Research Symposium - Spring (PIERS), 2017
The paper presents a novel design of analog phase shifter based on varactor-tuned reflective loads. Each device's reflective load comprises two microstrip stubs with varactor diode, where the stubs are connected in a specific way for average losses and transmission ripple minimization.

Ferroelectric Phase Shifters

1967 G-MTT International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1967
A diagram of the microstrip ferroelectric phase shifter is shown in Fig. 1(a). The nominal thickness of the ferroelectric material is 10 mils. As the dielectric constant of the ferroelectric is very high, the impedance af the microstrip line (~15 mils wide) is comparatively low. For matching purposes quarter-wave transformers of Ti0/sub 2/ were used. A

Magnetoelectric microwave phase shifter

Applied Physics Letters, 2006
An electric field tunable yttrium iron garnet (YIG)-lead zirconate titanate (PZT) phase shifter based on ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) is designed and characterized. The electric field control of the phase shift δφ arises through magnetoelectric interactions.

Microwave Phase Shifters

2018
This chapter presents design, analysis and applications of various microwave phase shifters based on varactor diodes, p-i-n diodes and switched delay lines. Design and analysis of continuous variable and constant insertion loss of four-quadrant microwave phase shifters based on p-i-n diodes are described.
