Unconventional insulator-to-metal phase transition in Mn3Si2Te6

open access: yesNature Communications
The nodal-line semiconductor Mn3Si2Te6 is generating enormous excitment due to the recent discovery of a field-driven insulator-to-metal transition and associated colossal magnetoresistance as well as evidence for a new type of quantum state involving ...

Helical Phase Inflation and Monodromy in Supergravity Theory

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2015
We study helical phase inflation which realizes “monodromy inflation” in supergravity theory. In the model, inflation is driven by the phase component of a complex field whose potential possesses helicoid structure.

Two-phase flow experimental studies in micro-models

open access: yes, 2013
The aim of this research project was to put more physics into theories of two-phase flow. The significance of including interfacial area as a separate variable in two-phase flow and transport models was investigated.

Identification of a 7-phase claw-pole starter-alternator for a micro-hybrid automotive application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper deals with the identification of a new high power starter-alternator system, using both: a Finite Element Method (FEM) modeling and an experimental vector control.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Bosonic partition functions at nonzero (imaginary) chemical potential

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We consider bosonic random matrix partition functions at nonzero chemical potential and compare the chiral condensate, the baryon number density and the baryon number susceptibility to the result of the corresponding fermionic partition function. We find

Phase diffusion in a Bose-Einstein condensate of light

open access: yes, 2014
We study phase diffusion in a Bose-Einstein condensate of light in a dye-filled optical microcavity, i.e., the spreading of the probability distribution for the condensate phase.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

6D SCFTs and phases of 5D theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
Starting from 6D superconformal field theories (SCFTs) realized via F-theory, we show how reduction on a circle leads to a uniform perspective on the phase structure of the resulting 5D theories, and their possible conformal fixed points. Using the correspondence between F-theory reduced on a circle and M-theory on the corresponding elliptically ...
