A first comparison of irregularity and ion drift velocity measurements in the E-region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
International audienceE-region irregularity velocity measurements at large flow angles with the STARE Finland coherent VHF radar are considered in context of the ion and electron velocity data provided by the EISCAT tristatic radar system, CUTLASS ...

Acoustoelectric Effect for Rayleigh Wave in ZnO Produced by an Inhomogeneous In-Depth Electrical Conductivity Profile

open access: yesSensors, 2023
The acousto-electric (AE) effect associated with the propagation of the Rayleigh wave in ZnO half-space was theoretically investigated by studying the changes in wave velocity and propagation loss induced by in-depth inhomogeneous changes in the ZnO ...

Solving the Christoffel equation: Phase and group velocities [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Physics Communications, 2016
Abstract We provide christoffel , a Python tool for calculating direction-dependent phase velocities, polarization vectors, group velocities, power flow angles and enhancement factors based on the stiffness tensor of a solid. It is built in a modular way to allow for efficient and flexible calculations, and the freedom to select and combine results ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

基于相速度预测的FMM弹性TTI介质qP波射线追踪

open access: yesDizhen xuebao

Shear Wave Dispersion as a Potential Biomarker for Cervical Remodeling During Pregnancy: Evidence From a Non-Human Primate Model

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2021
Shear wave dispersion (variation of phase velocity with frequency) occurs in tissues with layered and anisotropic microstructure and viscous components, such as the uterine cervix.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Laser Ion Acceleration in a Near Critical Density Trap

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
In order to accelerate ions by a laser, we go back to the original and the fundamental idea of how longitudinal field structure generation can be carried out in an ionized media and how particles may be trapped by the created wakefield.
