Rayleigh wave propagation in isotropic sandy layer sliding over isotropic sandy semi-infinite medium with sliding contact

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2023
The present study aims to investigate Rayleigh wave propagation in an isotropic sandy layer overlying an isotropic sandy semi-infinite medium, with interface considered to be imperfect (slide contact and dislocation like model).

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The Influence of Experimental Condition on the Derivation of Propagation Coefficient in Arterials Systems: Numerical Investigation

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering, 2009
Over the last few decades several methods have been used to compute the propagation coefficient, which is a complex number that provides information about the viscoelastic properties of blood vessels.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Measurements of solids concentration and axial solids velocity in gas-solid two-phase flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Several techniques reported in the literature for measuring solids concentration and solids velocity in (dense) gas-solid two-phase flow have been briefly reviewed.

The effect of a hypocycloid irregularity on torsional surface waves in a multilayer system [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics
The present topic is devoted to investigating the effects of semi four-cusped hypocycloid irregularity on torsional surface waves in an initially stressed anisotropic porous medium situated between two anisotropic nonhomogeneous semi-infinite spaces. The

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Coherent structures and bubble-particle velocity in 2-D fluidized beds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This work presents an experimental study to characterize ascending bubbles and granular velocity in the dense phase of a 2-D fluidized bed. Three different non-intrusive techniques based on images obtained with a high speed camera are developed, and ...

Large probe arrays for measuring mean and time dependent local oil volume fraction and local oil velocity component distributions in inclined oil-in-water flows

open access: yes, 2013
Arrays of dual-sensor and four-sensor needle conductance probes have been used to measure the mean and time dependent local properties of upward inclined, bubbly oil-in-water flows (also known as dispersed oil-in-water flows) in a 153mm diameter pipe ...
