Stability of cosmological deflagration fronts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In a cosmological first-order phase transition, bubbles of the stable phase nucleate and expand in the supercooled metastable phase. In many cases, the growth of bubbles reaches a stationary state, with bubble walls propagating as detonations or ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Nondestructive evaluation of dynamic properties in beach wood using free vibration method on free- free bar [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات علوم چوب و کاغذ ایران, 2014
In this study effect of different NDT methods on dynamic properties in beech wood (flexural vibration and longitudinal vibration method) were evaluated .29 clear samples with nominal dimension of 2×4×36 cm selected and bending vibration in free-free ...

Rayleigh wave propagation in isotropic sandy layer sliding over isotropic sandy semi-infinite medium with sliding contact

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2023
The present study aims to investigate Rayleigh wave propagation in an isotropic sandy layer overlying an isotropic sandy semi-infinite medium, with interface considered to be imperfect (slide contact and dislocation like model).

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The Influence of Experimental Condition on the Derivation of Propagation Coefficient in Arterials Systems: Numerical Investigation

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering, 2009
Over the last few decades several methods have been used to compute the propagation coefficient, which is a complex number that provides information about the viscoelastic properties of blood vessels.

Direct measurement of quantum phase gradients in superfluid 4He flow

open access: yes, 2007
We report a new kind of experiment in which we generate a known superfluid velocity in a straight tube and directly determine the phase difference across the tube's ends using a superfluid matter wave interferometer. By so doing, we quantitatively verify

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

The effect of a hypocycloid irregularity on torsional surface waves in a multilayer system [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics
The present topic is devoted to investigating the effects of semi four-cusped hypocycloid irregularity on torsional surface waves in an initially stressed anisotropic porous medium situated between two anisotropic nonhomogeneous semi-infinite spaces. The

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
