Morphogenesis in solidification phases of lightweight concrete surface at early ages

Construction and Building Materials, 2017
Abstract The article is devoted to the identification of the morphological evolution of the surface of lightweight concrete (LWC) at early ages. In order to better understand the complex process of solidification, the measured morphologies are compared at different stages.

Phase Change and the Regulation of Shoot Morphogenesis in Plants

Science, 1990
The shoot system of higher plants passes through several different phases during its development. Each of these phases is characterized by a unique set of morphological and physiological attributes. The intermediate character of the structures produced during phase changes and the phenotypes of mutations that affect this process demonstrate that these ...

Thermosensitive polymer controlled morphogenesis and phase discrimination of calcium carbonate

Chemical Communications, 2017
Homogeneous aragonite flowers with controlled surface structures can be synthesized by using a thermosensitive polymer, i.e. poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide)–poly(acrylamido methyl propane sulfonate) (PEG–PNIPAM–PAMPS), as a crystal growth modifier in the mineralization of calcium carbonate.

Dimorphism of Scopulariopsis brevicaulis: Morphogenesis of the mould to yeast phase

Mycopathologia, 1987
The dimorphism of Scopulariopsis brevicaulus was induced in malt agar (Oxoid), at 37 degrees C and 5-10% rate of CO2. Six cultures of S. brevicaulus were converted from hyphae to yeast-like cells by the following processes: One was that the hyphae formed intercalar and terminal chlamydoconidia-like cells.

The mechanism of morphogenesis in a phase-separating concentrated multicomponent alloy

Nature Materials, 2007
What determines the morphology of a decomposing alloy? Besides the well-established effect of the nucleation barrier, we demonstrate that, in a concentrated multicomponent Ni(Al,Cr) alloy, the details of the diffusion mechanism strongly affect the kinetic pathway of precipitation.

Human Cytomegalovirus morphogenesis: an ultrastructural study of the late cytoplasmic phases

Archives of Virology, 1988
The late cytoplasmic phases of human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) morphogenesis in cultured fibroblasts have been studied by transmission electron microscopy focusing attention on the relationship between the viral particles and host cell organelles. The results obtained largely reflect changes in cells subjected to sublethal injurious stimuli induced by ...

Dynamical phases of intrasecular cycles of morphogenesis within the drainless lake basins of Dauria

Geography and Natural Resources, 2014
A case study is made of the functioning of the Lake Khara-Nur drainless basin to gain a more penetrating insight into the mechanism of morphogenesis in the immediate vicinity of the cryogenic and arid morphoclimatic zones. It is shown that an alternation of dynamical phases of morphogenesis causes a matter redistribution between the elements of the ...

Morphogenesis of Paragordius varius (Nematomorpha) during the parasitic phase

Zoomorphology, 2005
The development of Paragordius varius (Nematomorpha), in the parasitic phase of the life cycle, was followed ultrastructurally from 10 days after controlled infection of crickets (Gryllus firmus) to mature animals at 30 days after infection. During this time span, specimens grow from about 1 cm to more than 10 cm and from 93 μm to about 400 μm in ...
