Filters for M class Phasor Measurement Units [PDF]
The new standard C37.118.1 lays down strict performance limits for phasor measurement units (PMUs) under steady-state and dynamic conditions. Reference algorithms are also presented for the P (performance) and M (measurement) class PMUs. In this paper, the performance of the Reference M class filter is analysed.

Phasor Measurement Unit and Sampled Values: Measurement and Implementation Challenges [PDF]
In recent years, the electrical substations are experiencing a rapid transition towards a fully digital measurement infrastructure, in terms of data acquisition, storage and processing. The IEC Std 61850-9-2 defines the data format, also known as Sampled Value (SV), to be employed by instrument transformers, merging units, and controller devices.

The Design of a Low Cost Phasor Measurement Unit [PDF]
The widespread diffusion of Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) is a becoming a need for the development of the “smartness” of power systems. However, PMU with accuracy compliant to the standard Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) C37.118.1-2011 and its amendment IEEE Std C37.118.1a-2014 have typically costs that constitute a brake for
