2,9-Bis(trichloromethyl)-1,10-phenanthroline [PDF]
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(14)H(6)Cl(6)N(2), contains two crystallographically independent mol-ecules, each of which is slightly twisted from planarity. The dihedral angles between the central ring and the two outer rings are 3.81 (7) and 4.30 (7)° in one mol-ecule, and 4.13 (8) and 4.10 (7)° in the other.

Terpyridine derivatives functionalized with (hetero)aromatic groups and the corresponding Ru complexes: synthesis and characterization as SHG chromophores [PDF]
Push–pull terpyridine derivatives were synthesized and characterized in order to study the variations produced in their optical and electronic properties by linking different (hetero)aromatic electron donor moieties at position 4 of the electron ...

By modulating the topological structures of two N‐heterocycle‐based covalent organic frameworks, Phen‐TTA with a kgd‐v topology exhibits narrower optical bandgap, lower exciton binding energy, and faster charge‐carrier kinetics compared to O‐TTA with an hcb topology.

This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Emergent Spin‐Glass Behavior in an Iron(II)‐Based Metal–Organic Framework Glass
A one‐pot, solvent‐free synthesis yields an Fe2+‐based metal‐organic framework (MOF) glass featuring a continuous random network structure. The material exhibits spin‐glass freezing at 14 K, driven by topological‐disorder and short‐range magnetic frustration, showcasing the potential of MOF glasses as a plattform for cooperative magnetic phenomena in ...

On-off optical switching of the magnetic and structural properties in a spin-crossover complex [PDF]
A photoexcitation is one of the promising external fields to control the material phases. Here, the authors have demonstrated that the magnetic and structural properties of a spin-crossover complex, Fe(phen)2(NCS)2 (phen=1,10-phenanthroline), can be ...

This study demonstrates that memristors can replace conventional 2T–1C driving circuits with simplified 1T–1 m architectures by exploiting resistance switching. With ultra‐low switching voltages (< ±0.2 V) and multi‐level resistance states, the memristors precisely control the current injected into organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs).

The seminal transformation of a 2D‐COF (SURFCOF‐IMDEA1) into a 2D porous COF (SURFCOF‐IMDEA2) on Au(111) by a sequential C‐C coupling and ladderization triggered by thermal annealing steps at increasing temperatures is reported. Abstract The development of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) is currently a primary objective in materials science, taking ...
