Hyperthermia‐induced cytotoxicity and modulation of PD‐L1 and MHC‐I expression in human non‐small cell lung cancer cell lines

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Hyperthermia has recently been applied to treat human non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the mechanisms underlying cytotoxic sensitivity of NSCLC cells to hyperthermia are not fully understood. In this study, five NSCLC cell lines with different epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), Kirsten rat sarcoma and tumor protein p53 ...

Electrochemical Detection of Thrombin Activity Using an Electrogenic Substrate: Toward Rapid Coagulation Monitoring

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 9, 5 May 2026.
Measuring thrombin activity provides critical information about coagulation health. A voltammetry technique was developed to monitor thrombin activity rapidly on a screen‐printed gold electrode. Thrombin selectively cleaves the bond between para‐nitroaniline (pNA) and a tri‐peptide substrate. pNA cleavage is monitored electrochemically by measuring its

Identification of Phenazines with Potential Inhibitory Activity against OXA-48 Carbapenemase by Using Molecular Docking Approach to Combat Antibiotic Resistance [PDF]

open access: yesMajallah-i Dānishgāh-i ’Ulūm-i Pizishkī-i Shahīd Ṣadūqī Yazd
Introduction: Antibiotic resistance, particularly carbapenem resistance, poses a serious global health challenge, with the OXA-48 carbapenemase being a key factor in providing this resistance.

Gas Phase Fragmentation of N,N-Ditosyl-2-aminodiphenylamine to Phenazine

open access: yesMolbank
N,N-Ditosyl-2-aminodiphenylamine was prepared by the tosylation of 2-aminodiphenylamine with tosylchloride in dichloromethane. Unwanted isomers owing to the tosylation of the diarylamine were not formed.

Preparations of methoxynitrophenazines and their photoconductivities [PDF]

open access: yes
Eight methoxynitrophenazines with a methoxy group at the 1 or 2 position and a nitro group at the 6-, 7-, 8- or 9-position of the phenazine ring 1,6, 1,7. 1,8, 1,9, 2,6, 2,7, 2,8 and 2,9 were prepared and their photocurrents were measured by illuminating

Synthesis of a π‐Extended Phenazine Diimide Derivative and Characterization of Its Closed‐Shell Reduced States

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 17, 5 May 2026.
In this work, the synthesis and characterization of novel π‐extended phenazine diimides is reported. The derivatives undergo differential reduction to a dihydrophenazine or Meisenheimer form depending on the reaction conditions employed. The outcome of this work highlights the paramount importance of structural design in determining the nature of the ...

Mechanisms of Mitochondrial Toxicity and Cytotoxicity Caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa Pyocyanin in Human Nasal Epithelial Cells

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, Volume 16, Issue 5, Page 451-466, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen in cystic fibrosis‐related chronic rhinosinusitis (CF‐CRS) that produces phenazine metabolites pyocyanin and 1‐hydroxyphenazine (1‐HP), which may have detrimental effects on mitochondria, reactive oxygen species (ROS), Ca2+ signaling, and apoptosis.

The transcription factors ActR and SoxR differentially affect the phenazine tolerance of Agrobacterium tumefaciens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Bacteria in soils encounter redox‐active compounds, such as phenazines, that can generate oxidative stress, but the mechanisms by which different species tolerate these compounds are not fully understood. Here, we identify two transcription factors, ActR

Durable Organic Anode Material With High Mass‐Loading for Proton Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 3, May 2026.
Indanthrone (IDT) was developed as a high‐mass‐loading anode material for durable proton batteries due to the formation of intramolecular hydrogen bonds that locking the rigid fused‐ring structure, enabling an ultra‐stable cycling performance over 20,000 cycles at a high mass loading of 8 mg cm−2.
