5-n-Alk(en)ylresorcinol accumulation across developmental stages of triticale through comparative metabolite profiling: implications of fresh and dry basis

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food
Triticale (× Triticosecale Wittmack), an edible hybrid of rye and wheat, is known for its superior agronomic traits. This study investigates the patterns of 5-n-alk(en)ylresorcinols (AR), phenolic lipids with diverse biological activities, in fresh and ...

Phenolics profile, anti-nephrolithiasis, and antioxidant activities of Monodora myristica seed: impact of endogenous proteins and lipids

open access: yesFood Production, Processing and Nutrition, 2023
The bioactive compounds in a food matrix can exist either in their free form or bound to other endogenous compounds, which may affect their bioactivities. This study investigated the impact of endogenous proteins and lipids on the phenolics profile, anti-

Phenolic content of Hypodaphnis Zenkeri and its antioxidant effects against fenton reactions’ mediated oxidative injuries on liver homogenate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Under oxidative stress conditions, endogenous antioxidant defenses are unable to completely inactivate the free radicals generated by an excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS).

A potent larvicidal agent against Aedes aegypti mosquito from cardanol

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências
Cardanol is a constituent of Cashew Nut Shell Liquid that presents larvicidal activity against Aedes aegypti. The isolation of cardanol is somewhat troublesome, however, in this work we describe an efficient and inexpensive method to obtain it as a pure ...

Structural changes in lipid-free humic acids during composting of sewage sludge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Structural changes in humic acids (HAs), extracted after lipid removal from sewage sludge during composting, were investigated using various chemical methods (elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and 13C-nuclear magnetic resonance

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Study of the In Vitro Digestion of Olive Oil Enriched or Not with Antioxidant Phenolic Compounds. Relationships between Bioaccessibility of Main Components of Different Oils and Their Composition

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2020
The changes provoked by in vitro digestion in the lipids of olive oil enriched or not with different phenolic compounds were studied by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and solid phase microextraction followed by gas chromatography/mass ...

Effect of Alternate Wetting and Drying Irrigation on the Nutritional Qualities of Milled Rice

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2021
Alternate wetting and drying (AWD) irrigation has been widely used to save irrigation water during rice production when compared to the traditionally continuous flooding (CF).

In vitro ion chelating, antioxidative mechanism of extracts from fruits and barks of tetrapleura tetraptera and their protective effects against fenton mediated toxicity of metal ions on liver homogenates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The aim of the present study was to investigate the antioxidant activity and protective potential of T. tetraptera extracts against ion toxicity. The antioxidant activity of the extracts was investigated spectrophotometrically against several radicals (1,
