The Electrochemical Characterization of Functionalized Isoindolinones

open access: yesChemElectroChem, EarlyView.
A new class of redox organic molecules called isoindolinones are evaluated electrochemically for their use in high‐voltage nonaqueous organic flow batteries. The molecules are characterized by a reversible and highly negative formal potential in the region of −2.8 V versus ferrocene/ferrocenium.

The Effect of Regioisomerism on the TADF Properties of Organic Dyes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
The properties of TADF emitters are highly dependent on the chosen electron donor and acceptor, as well as the π‐system that links them together. Herein, we show that regioisomerism affects the physical properties of spirobifluorene‐based systems in solution, thin films and crystals.

Excited State Branching Processes in a Ru(II)‐Based Donor–Acceptor–Donor System

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 31, June 3, 2025.
The photoinduced electron transfer processes in a Ru(II)‐based push–pull–push architecture which combines an inorganic and organic chromophore are elucidated in a joint spectroscopic‐theoretical approach. The applied design concept allows the excited state to be localized away from the metal onto the organic chromophore.

Hybrid pH Responsive Supramolecular Polymers Through the Combination of the Ureido–Pyrimidinone Motif with β‐Sheet Peptide Sequences

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The combination of the ureido–pyrimidinone motif with two different β‐sheet peptide sequences yielded supramolecular structures with significantly different morphologies in water. The resulting supramolecular nanostructures showed structural stability between pH = 5 and 9, while precipitation occurred at pH = 3.0 and random coil formation at pH 12 ...

Pyrimidine‐Based Four‐Coordinate O^N^O Boron Complexes: Synthesis, Photophysical and Theoretical Studies, and TADF‐Based OLED Devices

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This article describes the synthesis, along with the full photophysical and computational characterization, of a series of push‐pull boron complexes comprising a sterically hindered donor connected to a pyrimidine‐based O^N^O boron chelate. Incorporation of the dimethylacridan derivative into an organic light‐emitting diode led to the observation of ...

Oxadiazole-Based Highly Efficient Bipolar Fluorescent Emitters for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
In this study, a series of bipolar fluorescence emitters named 2DPAc-OXD, DPAc-OXD, 2PTZ-OXD and PTZ-OXD were designed and synthesized with excellent yields. The characterization of materials was investigated by using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) (1H,

Conformation Dependent Room Temperature Phosphorescence in Organic Materials

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, EarlyView.
Room temperature phosphorescence from organic materials in the solid state can be tuned owing to changes in the molecular arrangement occurring in crystalline and amorphous phases. This review presents recent results that discuss conformation dependent triplet emission, revealing its role in the design of organic functional materials with diverse ...
