Dyes based on the D/A-acetylene linker-phenothiazine system for developing efficient dye-sensitized solar cells

Journal of Materials Chemistry C, 2019
Novel dyes based on the phenothiazine system D/A–π–D–π–A exhibit that elongation of π-conjugation is advantageous in the design of efficient photosensitizers.

Cytotoxic Potential of Phenothiazines

Current Drug Targets, 2006
Phenothiazines, a kind of sulfur-containing tricyclic compounds, have diverse biological activities including tranquilizer, antibacterial, antitumor and antihelmintic activities due to the relatively lower cytotoxicity. Phenothiazines have been used for clinical treatments as psychotropics.

Systematic optimization of the substituents on the phenothiazine donor of doubly strapped porphyrin sensitizers: an efficiency over 11% unassisted by any cosensitizer or coadsorbent

Journal of Materials Chemistry A, 2019
Charge recombination was effectively suppressed by judicious optimization of the substituents of the phenothiazine donor, and the power conversion efficiency was successfully improved from 9.3% to 11.1%.

Cardiovascular effects of phenothiazines

American Heart Journal, 1980
Abstract Phenothiazines have significant electrophysiologic and cardiocirculatory effects. The electrophysiologic effect of these drugs is similar to that reported for quinidine. Phenothiazines decrease the rate of rise of phase 0 of the action potential, decrease the duration and amplitude of phase 2, and prolong phase 3.

Electronic Coupling and Spin–Orbit Charge-Transfer Intersystem Crossing in Phenothiazine–Perylene Compact Electron Donor/Acceptor Dyads

Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2019
We prepared perylene (Pery)-phenothiazine (PTZ) compact donor/acceptor dyads with connection at either N- or 2-C positions of the PTZ moiety to attain molecular conformation restriction and to stud...

Phenothiazine Radical Cation Excited States as Super-oxidants for Energy-Demanding Reactions.

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2018
We demonstrate that the 10-phenyl-10 H-phenothiazine radical cation (PTZ+•) has a manifold of excited doublet states accessible using visible and near-infrared light that can serve as super-photooxidants with excited-state potentials is excess of +2.1 V ...

Paradoxical effects of phenothiazines

The Psychiatric Quarterly, 1968
Four patients have been described as showing a most unusual paradoxical reaction to phenothiazines at extremely low doses. The theoretical aspects of the problem have been considered.

Spin–Orbit Charge Recombination Intersystem Crossing in Phenothiazine–Anthracene Compact Dyads: Effect of Molecular Conformation on Electronic Coupling, Electronic Transitions, and Electron Spin Polarizations of the Triplet States

Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2018
Phenothiazine (PTZ)–anthracene (An) compact electron donor/acceptor dyads were synthesized. The molecular conformation was constrained by rotation restriction to achieve an orthogonal geometry between the electron donor (PTZ) and the electron acceptor ...

Strong Ground- and Excited-State Charge Transfer in C3 -Symmetric Truxene-Derived Phenothiazine-Tetracyanobutadine and Expanded Conjugates.

Angewandte Chemie, 2019
The C3 -symmetric star-shaped phenothiazene-substituted truxene 1 was reacted with the electron acceptors tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ).

The Toxicity of Coroxon/Phenothiazine and Coumaphos/Phenothiazine

Research in Veterinary Science, 1962
SUMMARY —Experiments are described which show that anthelmintic doses of mixtures of Coroxon/phenothiazine or Coumaphos/phenothiazine are well tolerated by sheep of all ages and by sheep under various environmental conditions. Metabolism studies with Coroxon/phenothiazine showed that over 90 per cent of an oral dose (6 mg./ kg.) of Coroxon was ...
