Modular One‐Pot Access to π‐Expanded Tetrakis(Phenothiazinyl)‐Silanes With Broadly Tunable Redox and Emission Properties

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A library of 21 tetrakis(phenothiazinyl)‐substituted silanes with broadly variable substituent decoration, which are fully reversible multistage redox systems with intense tunable emission from deep blue to yellow–green (441–533 nm), was rapidly synthesized by bromine–lithium exchange/borylation–Suzuki coupling of tetrakis(4‐bromophenyl)silane or by ...

Photogenerated fluphenazine radical cations for antiviral functionalization of polypropylene masks

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Fluphenazine impregnated into nonwoven polypropylene masks is photoexcited to a radical cation, which inactivates viruses on the polymer surface without causing damage to the masks. Abstract The incorporation of photoactive molecules into polymeric substrates offers a compelling route to introduce advanced functionality while preserving the host ...

Dibenzofuran‐Modulated Narrowband Red MR‐TADF Emitters for BT.2020 OLEDs With Ultralow Roll‐Off and Long Lifetime

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A materials‐to‐device strategy enabling high‐efficiency, longer‐lifetime narrowband red OLEDs. Dibenzofuran‐integrated BNO MR‐TADF emitters provide tunable red emission (611–633 nm) with high color purity. Exciplex‐assisted PSF devices achieve 31.6% EQE, <1% roll‐off at 5000 cd m−2, and LT90 584 h @ 5000 cd/m2.

Photocatalytically Active Mechanically Interlocked Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Mechanically interlocked CNTs (MINTs) are studied as heterogeneous photocatalysts. Two different motifs are presented, which own enhanced activity versus homogeneous systems at very low loadings, high TON, excellent recyclability, varied scope and no leaching.
