Trypanosoma cruzi: effect of phenothiazines on the parasite and its interaction with host cells
Phenothiazines were observed to have a direct effect on Trypanosoma cruzi and on its in vitro interaction with host cells. They caused lysis of trypomastigotes (50 uM/24 h) and,to a lesser extent, epimastigote proliferation.

In this work, two benzothioxanthene imide dyes demonstrate excellent photochemical properties. When used as photocatalysts, they work with amine and iodonium salt or sulfonium salt to form different three‐component systems for effectively initiating photopolymerization under visible light, through photoredox catalysis processes.

This study presents core‐shell Au‐Ag NPs and a novel molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)‐based material targeting L1CAM. Thionine is used as a monomer to create the MIP on a carbon screen‐printed electrode. Functionalized Au‐AgNCs with Raman reporter 4‐mercaptobenzoic acid and anti‐L1CAM enable selective detection via surface‐enhanced Raman scattering ...

A Double-Edged Sword: Thioxanthenes Act on Both the Mind and the Microbiome
The rising tide of antibacterial drug resistance has given rise to the virtual elimination of numerous erstwhile antibiotics, intensifying the urgent demand for novel agents. A number of drugs have been found to possess potent antimicrobial action during

Electrocrystallization of Phenothiazine [PDF]
Abstract New cation radical salts of phenothiazine with (1:1), (3:2), and (2:1) compositions were prepared by the method of electrochemical oxidation. The electrical resistivities measured on the compaction of crystalline powder were 103–105 Ω cm at room temperature in the case of the complex salts.

A site‐selective, efficient, and mild tyrosine conjugation via tyrosinase oxidation and nucleophilic addition, allowing for site‐selective functionalization of peptides, recombinant proteins, and IgGs. Site‐selective mono‐functionalization of IgGs at Y296 enables the construction of immunoliposomes.

Inhibition of Bacterial RNase P RNA by Phenothiazine Derivatives
There is a need to identify novel scaffolds and targets to develop new antibiotics. Methylene blue is a phenothiazine derivative, and it has been shown to possess anti-malarial and anti-trypanosomal activities.
