Estimation of Genetic Parameters for Carcass and Meat Quality Traits Using Genomic Information in Yorkshire Pigs

open access: yesAnimals
Carcass and meat quality traits are critical in pig breeding and production. Estimating genetic parameters for these traits is a vital aspect of breeding engineering, as accurate genetic parameters are essential for estimating breeding values, predicting

Genetic analysis of fertility traits of Holstein dairy cattle in warm and temperate climate

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Animal Sciences, 2016
The edited data set for the estimation of heritability, genetic and phenotypic correlations of fertility traits contained up to 23,402 records from 10,894 cows calved between 2001 and 2015.

Negative phenotypic and genetic associations between copulation duration and longevity in male seed beetles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Reproduction can be costly and is predicted to trade-off against other characters. However, while these trade-offs are well documented for females, there has been less focus on aspects of male reproduction.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Relationship Between Physiological Characteristic and Bean Quality on Some Cocoa Clones (Theobroma Cacao L.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Photosynthesis is one of the physiological process that influence the bean weight and this process related with the efectiveness of the stomata character and chlorophyll content in the leaves.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Effect of intra row spacings on estimates of phenotypic and genotypic correlation coefficients in cotton (Gossypium arboreum)

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2016
A field experiment was conducted on six Gossypium arboreum genotypes for two successive cropping seasons from 2011-2012 to 2012-2013 at Central Institute for Cotton Research, Regional Station, Sirsa, Haryana, India.

Quantitative genetics of maize (Zea mays L.) during seedling establishment under cool conditions : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Agricultural Science in Plant Science at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Two experiments were conducted to study cool tolerance in maize (Zea mays L.). The first experiment was carried out under controlled environment to evaluate several genotypes from five synthetic populations which are currently being used to develop ...

Comprehensive genotype-phenotype correlation in lissencephaly

open access: yesQuantitative Imaging in Medicine and Surgery, 2018
Malformations of cortical development (MCD) are a heterogenous group of disorders with diverse genotypic and phenotypic variations. Lissencephaly is a subtype of MCD caused by defect in neuronal migration, which occurs between 12 and 24 weeks of gestation.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
