Lactone Enolates of Isochroman-3-ones and 2‑Coumaranones: Quantification of Their Nucleophilicity in DMSO and Conjugate Additions to Chalcones [PDF]
Owing to stereoelectronic effects, lactones often deviate in reactivity from their open-chain ester analogues as demonstrated by the CH acidity (in DMSO) of 3-isochromanone (pKa = 18.8) and 2-coumaranone (pKa = 13.5), which is higher than that of ethyl ...

Microplastic‐induced gut microbial enrichment was dominated by bacteria within Eubacteriales, correlated with the virome, and accompanied by colitis. The polyamine synthetic pathway was activated to maintain glutathionylspermidine homeostasis, concurrent with decreases in pathways involved in the production of energy and reactive oxygen species under ...

Draft Genome Sequence of the Putative Marine Pathogen Thalassobius sp. I31.1 [PDF]
Thalassobius sp. I31.1 is a putative pathogen involved in epizootic shell disease in the American lobster (Homarus americanus). We report here the draft genome sequence for Thalassobius sp.

Multi‐Omics Signatures of Periodontitis and Periodontal Therapy on the Oral and Gut Microbiome
This multi‐omics study integrates shotgun metagenomics and NMR metabolomics to reveal coordinated microbial and metabolic signatures of periodontitis across the oral–gut axis. Non‐surgical periodontal therapy partially restored ecological and functional balance, supporting oral health as a modifiable driver of systemic microbial homeostasis.

Some Pyrolitic Reactions of Salts of Organic Acids [PDF]
As a result of a number of isotopic and non-isotopic pyrolyses of salts of carboxylic acids, a new theory for the mechanism of these thermal decompositions has been proposed.

SsPhacA regulates the phenylalanine metabolic pathway to modulate p‐coumaric acid accumulation, which increases the transcriptional level of SsPRF1, thereby regulating sexual reproduction in S. scitamineum. ABSTRACT Sugarcane smut, caused by Sporisorium scitamineum, is one of the most severe sugarcane diseases.

A formal method for the de-N,N-dialkylation of Sommelet-Hauser rearrangement products [PDF]
Selective amine de-alkylation enables the conversion of Sommelet–Hauser rearrangement products into 2-aryl-2-bromoacetic acid derivatives. These compounds are valuable synthetic intermediates in the synthesis of α-aryl-α-amino or α-aryl-β-amino acid ...

Bacterial fitness for plant colonization is influenced by plant growth substrate
Summary Despite advances in our understanding of bacterial plant colonization, the extent to which growth substrate influences the molecular mechanisms enabling bacteria to efficiently colonize plants remains poorly understood. To address this, we used randomly barcoded transposon mutagenesis sequencing (RB‐TnSeq) in Paraburkholderia graminis OAS925 ...

Anionic polymerization of methacrylic monomers: characterization of the propagating species [PDF]
peer reviewedLigation of the anionic species responsible for the polymerization (LAP) of alkyl(meth)acrylates has much contributed to improve polymerization control.

The homologation of esters—in the presence of a lithium carbenoid—to thioesters, amides, and carboxylic acid is reported. By controlling the tetrahedral intermediate collapsing and promoting a series of rearrangements ultimately leading to a high electrophilic ketene, the subsequent incorporation of S‐, N‐, and O‐nucleophilic elements furnishes the ...
