p-Phenylenediamine sensitization and occupation

Contact Dermatitis, 2010
p-Phenylenediamine (PPD) is an extreme delayed-type skin sensitizer, and is relevant in both occupational and non-occupational exposures. To estimate the prevalence of PPD sensitization in a population of consecutive patients with suspected allergic contact dermatitis who attended units of dermatology or occupational medicine in north-eastern Italy and ...

In vitro cytotoxicity of methylated phenylenediamines

Toxicology Letters, 1992
The acute cytotoxicities of methylated phenylenediamines (PDs) were evaluated with the neutral red assay, using BALB/c 3T3 mouse fibroblasts as the bioindicators. When the test agents were grouped according to their degree of methylation, good correlations were noted between their in vitro cytotoxicity and their in vivo myotoxicity to experimental ...

Base and catalyst-free synthesis of nitrobenzodiazepines via a cascade N-nitroallylation-intramolecular aza-Michael addition involving o-phenylenediamines and nitroallylic acetates

, 2019
A [4+3] annulation of o-phenylenediamines with primary nitroallylic acetates affords nitrobenzodiazepines (NBDZs) in good to excellent yield. The reaction which proceeds in MeOH at room temperature in the absence of any base or catalyst involves a ...

Aniline-phenylenediamine copolymers

Synthetic Metals, 1999
The electrical conductivity of materials based on polyaniline can be controlled on submolecular level by the copolymerization of aniline with various phenylenediamines. The joint chemical oxidation of aniline with phenylenediamines yields products with the dc conductivity spanning over more than eleven orders of magnitude.

Coordinating ability of phenylenediamines

Coordination Chemistry Reviews, 1999
Abstract The coordinating ability of aromatic diamines is conditioned both by the low basicity of the nitrogen atoms and their situation in ortho, meta or para positions on the aromatic ring. Important aspects of the aromatic diamines taking into account their possible applications are: processes based on electron transfer forming Wurster type ...

Final Report On the Safety Assessment of m-Phenylenediamine and m-Phenylenediamine Sulfate1

International Journal of Toxicology, 1997
The ingredients m-Phenylenediamine and m-Phenylenediamine Sulfate are aromatic amines that function as hair colorants in cosmetic products. Both are currently used in hair dye products at concentrations of up to 3%. Percutaneous absorption of m-Phenylenediamine has been demonstrated in animals.
