Synthesis of substituted 2-(1,2,4- triazol-3-yl)benzimidazoles
A solution-phase synthesis for the preparation of substituted 2-(1,2,4-triazol-3- yl)benzimidazoles from triazole aldehydes and ortho-phenylenediamines has been developed for the purpose of producing diverse lead generation libraries.

NITROSUBSTITUTED 1,2-PHENYLENEDIAMINES
The 1H, 13C and 15N NMR spectra, both in solution and in the solid state, of five 1,2-phenylenediamines have been recorded. Assignment of all the signals has been achieved and chemical shifts and coupling constants determined. When necessary homo- and heteronuclear 2D NMR experiments have been performed.

The borate‐based cobalt‐iron catalyst promotes selective oxidation of water rather than chlorine evolution reaction during electrolysis of seawater. When integrated into a zero‐gap electrolyzer prototype, this catalyst supports robust splitting of artificial seawater into oxygen and hydrogen on an extended timescale.

Objective Cerebral ischemic stroke causes neuronal oxygen/energy deprivation, disrupting mitochondrial function including reduced membrane potential and bioenergetics, exacerbating neuronal injury. Mitochondrial defects are, therefore, a central neuropathological node and potential therapeutic target.

The Effect of Silk on the Stabilization of Labile Enzyme Lipoxygenase
Entrapping lipoxygenase within silk significantly extended its stability from under 24 h to 10 days. Variations in silk molecular weight and freeze‐drying conditions influenced silk properties and enzyme interactions. This stabilization is leveraged to develop a linoleic acid electrochemical biosensor, integrating lipoxygenase with horseradish ...

Catalyst-free synthesis of substituted benzimidazoles and benzothiazoles in a sustainable solvent
A catalyst-free synthesis of various 2-alkyl or aryl-substituted benzothiazoles and benzimidazoles has been developed at room temperature by simply combining alkyl or arylaldehydes with ortho-phenylenediamines and 2-aminothiophenols, respectively.
