Alms1 KO Rat: A New Model of Cardiometabolic Syndrome With Spontaneous Hypertension
ABSTRACT Alström syndrome 1 (ALMS1) is a protein linked to Alström syndrome, a rare genetic disorder characterized by obesity, insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia, and hypertension. Genetic studies have further associated Alms1 with hypertension in human populations. However, the precise mechanisms by which ALMS1 regulates metabolic and cardiovascular

Solving post‐anaesthetic respiratory obstruction: Being prepared is key
Summary Post‐anaesthetic respiratory obstruction in the horse is a relatively infrequent but immediately consequential occurrence. Management of Haws Syndrome in Cats With Gastrointestinal Diet: A Case Series
ABSTRACT Background Haws syndrome (HS) in cats is characterized by bilateral protrusion of the third eyelid and ptosis, often accompanied by gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms such as diarrhea. Emerging evidence suggests disruption of the gut‐brain axis, linked to GI microbiota dysbiosis, may play a role in HS development.
