Endothelium‐Independent Relaxation of Alkaloid Boldine in Isolated Aortas From Normotensive and Hypertensive Rats: Participation of Ca2+ Channels

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 22, Issue 12, December 2025.
Involvement of Ca2+ channels in boldine‐induced vascular relaxation. ABSTRACT The regulation of vascular tone plays a fundamental role in blood pressure homeostasis and still represents a significant challenge in clinical practice. Boldine, a naturally occurring alkaloid from Peumus boldus, has emerged as a compound of interest due to its therapeutic ...

Impact of Endothelial Diversity and Dysfunction on Cardiovascular Disease

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 15, Issue 6, December 2025.
The vascular endothelium is highly diverse, regulating permeability, vascular tone, repair, and inter‐organ communication. Endothelial heterogeneity supports tissue‐specific needs, but dysfunction drives cardiovascular disease. Transcriptomics, in vitro models, and redox signaling studies reveal therapeutic targets for precision treatment of ...

Prevalence, underlying causes, and preventability of sepsis-associated mortality in US acute care hospitals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Importance: Sepsis is present in many hospitalizations that culminate in death. The contribution of sepsis to these deaths, and the extent to which they are preventable, is unknown.

Bisphenol A‐Induced Vascular Endothelial Dysfunction: Protective Effects of Nigella sativa Oil and Thymoquinone

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
BPA exposure in rats and HUVECs impaired aortic contractility, increased lipid peroxidation, ROS, NO, VCAM‑1, and p‑eNOS, and blunted relaxant responses. Co‑treatment with NSO or TQ restored KCl/PE‑induced contractions, enhanced ACh‑ and SNP‑mediated vasorelaxation, and lowered oxidative/nitrosative stress and adhesion molecule expression.

Mechanical Signaling: Molecular Mechanisms, Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
In this review, we summarize cell–ECM interactions and delve into the complex mechanotransduction. We introduce advanced research methods and emerging clinical tools used to study cellular mechanical phenotypes, mechanotransduction, and disease progression. Additionally, we analyze the role of mechanical biomarkers in the development and progression of
