Regioselective Synthesis of 1-Alkyl-1-phenylhydrazines, 2-Alkyl-1-phenylhydrazines, and 1,2-Dialkyl-1-phenylhydrazines

Synthesis, 1990
1,2- and 1,1-disubstituted and 1,1,2-trisubstituted hydrazines are obtained by reaction of (2-phenylhydrazino)triphenylphosphonium bromide with butyllithium, followed by addition of alkyl halides and alkaline ...

Detection and determination of phenylhydrazine

Talanta, 1984
Cacotheline has been employed successfully as a new qualitative and quantitative reagent for phenylhydrazine. The spot-test is performed at pH 4.5-5.5 with a limit of detection of 0.5 mug ml in the sample solution. The method can be extended to the colorimetric estimation and photometric titration of phenylhydrazine with cacotheline.

The Oxidation of Phenylhydrazine by Tyrosinase

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2013
Tyrosinase was found to catalyze the oxidation of phenylhydrazine to phenol in a reaction that did not resemble those typically performed by tyrosinase. The kinetics of this reaction was investigated by measuring the initial velocity of the formation of phenol (25 °C). The values of k cat and K M for the oxidation of phenylhydrazine were obtained as 11.

N-(4-Nitrobenzylidene)-N′-phenylhydrazine

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2003
Molecules of the title compound (alternative name: p-nitrobenzaldehyde phenylhydrazone), C(13)H(11)N(3)O(2), adopt an E configuration about the azomethine C=N double bond. Molecules are approximately planar and the dihedral angle between the planes of the phenyl rings is 11.62 (9) degrees.

Phenylhydrazines. Structure and basicity

Russian Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2007
The main properties of phenylhydrazines are governed by the p-character of the unshared electron pair of the nitrogen of imino group changing in keeping with sp 3 → sp 2-regibridization of its atomic orbitals under the steric and electronic (-I effect of amino group) effect of substituents.

Phenylhydrazine-Induced Leukocytosis in the Rat

Journal of Leukocyte Biology, 1986
Abstract Rats were injected with phenylhydrazine (PHZ) for periods of up to 6 months, during which time a marked leukocytosis was induced. The highest leukocyte counts occurred within 4–5 days following injection. An initial injection of 4 mg/100 gm body weight evoked a mean total leukocyte count of 129 × 103 cells/μl.
