The development of a new inhibition kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of phenylhydrazine [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2005
Anew sensitive kinetic method has been developed for the determination of trace amounts of phenylhydrazine in the range of 1.08x10-7 to 1.08x10-6 g/cm3. The detection limit of this method is 0.008 μg/cm3, based on the 3Sb criterion. Themethod is based on

Speciation in the baboon and its relation to gamma-chain heterogeneity and to the response to induction of HbF by 5-azacytidine [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
In the baboon (Papio species), the two nonallelic gamma-genes produce gamma-chains that differ at a minimum at residue 75, where isoleucine (I gamma-chain) or valine (V gamma) may be present.

Protein glycosylation in lung cancer from a mass spectrometry perspective

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Lung cancer is a severe disease for which better diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are urgently needed. Increasing evidence implies that aberrant protein glycosylation plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis and progression of lung cancer.

The erythrocytic schizogony of two synchronized strains of Plasmodium berghei, NK65 and ANKA, in normocytes and reticulocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
By a modified Percoll-glucose centrifugation technique the rings and young trophozoites of two strains of Plasmodium berghei, NK65 and ANKA, were separated from the other erythrocytic stages and inoculated into mice. The subsequent infection was followed

High‐Performance Oxidation and Nanomolar Detection of Phenylhydrazine Using a 6‐Hydroxyflavone‐Based Molecular Electrocatalyst Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube in Batch Injection Analysis

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel, rapid method for in situ functionalization of carbon electrodes using redox‐active form of the 6‐hydroxyflavone. The resulting multiwalled carbon nanotubes with redox‐active HFLA (MWCNT@HFLA‐Redox) electrode enables sensitive, selective detection of toxic phenylhydrazine, with excellent performance (limit of detection: 7 nM)

Micromethods for determination of ammonia, urea, total nitrogen, uric acid, creatinine (and creatine), and allantoin [PDF]

open access: yes, 1935
The success with which Krebs and Henseleit (1) employed Warburg’s method of surviving tissue slices in the problem of the formation of urea in the liver encouraged its use for a direct attack on other problems of nitrogen metabolism in ...
