Chemical Metabolomics: Chemical Biology Tools for Advanced Metabolism Investigations

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 23, 1 June 2026.
The human metabolism has been investigated for several millennia. The metabolome is known for a high complexity due to a large number of different metabolites that are present at different concentrations. Metabolomics has been developed as a field to investigate the entire human metabolome and to elucidate disease development mechanisms.

Main Group Metals in Redox Catalysis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Main group metal redox catalysis is emerging as a credible alternative to transition metal chemistry. Elements from groups 13 to 15 now enable diverse catalytic manifolds, driven by ligand design and control of electronic structure. This review highlights recent advances, key design principles, and remaining challenges, positioning main group metals as

Rapid Analysis of Sports Prohibited Substances in Black Market Pharmaceutical Products Using Atmospheric Solids Analysis Probe‐Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 1, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Misuse of performance‐enhancing substances in sport remains a persistent threat to the values of fair competition, with estimated doping prevalence far exceeding adverse analytical findings in routine testing. This highlights the need for improved surveillance tools capable of rapid and simple, on‐site screening methods.

Rare Neurosarcoidosis Involvements

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Neurosarcoidosis is a rare manifestation of systemic sarcoidosis. Establishing a diagnosis can be challenging for clinicians, particularly in cases of isolated neurosarcoidosis. Here, we present nine patients with rare manifestations of neurosarcoidosis. ABSTRACT Neurosarcoidosis is a rare manifestation of systemic sarcoidosis. Establishing a diagnosis

Detection of Anabolic Androgenic Steroids and Steroid Esters—Comparing Dried Blood Spots Collection Devices and Urine Samples

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 17, Issue 12, Page 2374-2383, December 2025.
DBS (Capitainer‐B50 and Tasso‐M20) enabled detection of testosterone esters in all participants, whereas urine testing (T/E) missed cases including potential UGT2B17 del/del carriers and individuals with testosterone prescription. More AAS and steroid‐esters could be detected in Capitainer‐B50 versus Tasso‐M20.
