Experimental Evidence of Free Carrier Generation in 2D Hybrid Organic–Inorganic Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the significant potential of 2D hybrid organic–inorganic perovskites (2DHOIPs) for high‐efficiency optoelectronics application‐comparable to their 3D counterparts, the fundamental carrier photogeneration remains unclear. In contrast to conventional ultrafast optical property characterization, we use ultrafast photocurrent spectroscopy ...

Coal Pulverizer Prognostics Data Challenge in PHMAP 2017 and Suggestions for Future Studies

open access: yesInternational Journal of Prognostics and Health Management, 2018
Pulverizers in a power plant are used to grind coal into the form of a fine powder for combustion in a power plant. To secure reliable operation, redundant pulverizers should be installed in power plants and monitored.

Helix Alignment, Chevrons, and Edge Dislocations in Twist‐Bend Ferroelectric Nematics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The recently discovered twist‐bend ferroelectric nematic (NTBF) is the new member of the multiferroic family, representing a fluid with an oblique helicoidal (heliconical) periodic structure of spontaneous electric polarization. The work presents a thorough exploration of the material properties of this phase, how the periodic modulation of ...

Joint Special Issue on PHM for Aerospace Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Prognostics and Health Management, 2021
Prognostics and health management (PHM) is becoming one of the most popular topics for research and development in the aviation industry. The reasons for this are varied, but one of the main ones is that PHM affords the operator with a way to reduce ...

A PAL for Schistosoma mansoni PHM [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular and Biochemical Parasitology, 2010
Parasitic helminth neuromuscular function is a proven target for chemotherapeutic control. Although neuropeptide signalling plays a key role in helminth motor function, it has not yet provided targets for known anthelmintics. The majority of biologically active neuropeptides display a C-terminal amide (NH(2)) motif, generated exclusively by the ...

Overcoming the Trade‐Off Between Magnetic Coupling and Electrical Insulation in Soft Magnetic Materials via Nanochain Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs a nanochain engineering approach combined with an in situ oxidation strategy to fabricate self‐insulating iron‐based magnetic nanochains, addressing the challenge of balancing magnetic coupling and electrical insulation in soft magnetic materials.

Random Time‐Space Coding Metasurfaces for Spatial Control of the Temporal Statistics of Electromagnetic Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A probabilistic framework based on random time‐space coding metasurfaces enables control of the spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields temporal statistics. By tailoring the marginal and joint distributions of random codes, electromagnetic fields with desired mean and variance patterns are realized, enabling simultaneous transmission and jamming.
