Iron Physiology and Its Impact on Atopic Diseases: An EAACI Taskforce Report

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iron is essential for oxygen transport, energy metabolism, and immune regulation. Yet iron deficiency is the most common micronutrient disorder across all age groups, affecting nearly one quarter of the global population. Iron deficiency triggers nutritional immunity, a host defense mechanism that withholds and redistributes iron, contributing

Isolation of phosphatase-producing phosphate solubilizing bacteria from Loriya hot spring: Investigation of phosphate solubilizing in the presence of different parameters

open access: yesBiological Journal of Microorganism, 2014
Introduction: Biofertilizers are the microorganisms that can convert useless nutrient to usable compounds. Unlike fertilizer, cost of biofertilizer production is low and doesn’t produce ecosystem pollution.

Notoginsenoside‐Fa mitigates vascular endothelial permeability via targeting SUGT1 to stabilize NLRP3 in a resting state

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Notoginsenoside‐Fa (Noto‐Fa) is an emerging active compound derived from notoginseng with promise in treating cardiovascular diseases. The development of cardiovascular diseases is intricately linked to the damage of vascular endothelium and it is widely acknowledged that numerous chronic inflammation pathways, especially the ...

SELECTION OF NON-SYMBIOTIC PHOSPHATE-SOLUBILIZING IAZOTROPHIC BACTERIA

open access: yesRevista Multidisciplinar do Nordeste Mineiro
The objective of this study was to isolate and select rhizobacteria non-symbiotic diazotrophs capable of solubilizing phosphates and evaluating their efficiency in establishing interaction with corn seedlings (Zea mays L.) in vitro. 57 isolates grew in NFb and JMV culture media, of which 11 showed formations of a transparent halo around the colony ...

Dimerization‐dependent NOTCH receptor transactivation unveils a class of highly selective NOTCH signalling inhibitors

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
NOTCH signalling is indispensable for tissue homeostasis and, consequently, corruption of its normal function promotes numerous diseases, including cancer. However, the development of targeted therapies has been hampered by inefficacy and overt toxicity. Here, we show that NOTCH receptor dimerization is necessary for receptor transactivation, which has

Role of human RNase 7 in neuronal and glial cell models: moving towards an unexpected new functional link

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Human RNase 7 is known to exert antimicrobial activity in epithelial tissues. Here, using SH‐SY5Y and U‐87 MG, neuroblastoma and glioblastoma cell lines, respectively, we found that RNase 7 enhances immune responses to LPS stimulation by reducing the expression of pro‐inflammatory cytokines, nitric oxide, and ROS.
