Asymmetric Hydrogenation in Water by a Rhodium Complex of Sulfonated 2,2'-Bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl (binap) [PDF]
The synthesis of sulfonated 2,2′-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1′-binaphthyl (binap) is reported; a rhodium complex of this ligand is the first to perform asymmetric hydrogenation in neat water with optical yields as high as those obtained in nonaqueous ...

Organelle localization‐induced biorthogonal polymerization enables direct synthesis of photostable poly‐AIEgens within targeted organelles for super‐resolution live‐cell imaging. ABSTRACT Real‐time monitoring of dynamic biological processes demands fluorescent probes that can withstand prolonged light exposure without photobleaching—a critical ...

Recent developments in the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction: 2010-2014 [PDF]
The Suzuki-Miyaura reaction (SMR), involving the coupling of an organoboron reagent and an organic halide or pseudo-halide in the presence of a palladium or nickel catalyst and a base, has arguably become one of most utilized tools for the construction ...

Deployable medical devices typically need external stimuli to trigger deployment. However, external stimuli are difficult to supply within tissues. Here, we describe a strategy to deploy small‐scale structures into soft tissues after insertion without the need for any stimulus. We demonstrate deployment within a tissue phantom.

Studies on the effectiveness of various insecticides and drying in controlling granary weevil (Sitophilus granarius L.) in stored wheat seed : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirement for the degree of Master in Agricultural Science (Seed Technology) at Massey University, New Zealand [PDF]
This study was designed to examine the effects of various insecticidal materials and of repeated seed drying during storage on the population dynamics and survival of Granary Wevil (Sitophilus granarious L.) in wheat.

Peripherally-metallated porphyrins: meso-n1-porphyrinyl-platinum(II) complexes of 5,15-diaryl- and 5,10,15-triarylporphyrins [PDF]
Attempted metathesis reactions of peripherally-metallated meso-η1-porphyrinylplatinum(II) complexes such as trans-[PtBr(NiDPP)(PPh3)2] (H2DPP = 5,15-diphenylporphyrin) with organolithium reagents fail due to competitive addition at the porphyrin ring ...

3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Transistors
We introduce a biocompatible, high resolution photopolymer resin that closely mimics the Young's Modulus (elasticity) and reversible stretchability (no hysteresis) of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), enabling the fabrication of microfluidic transistors (i.e., microvalves capable of proportional amplification) by multimaterial stereolithography (mSLA ...
