Mechanistic studies on phosphoglucomutase

open access: yes, 1988
The mechanism of rabbit skeletal muscle phosphoglucomutase (EC.2.7.5.1) has been investigated using fluorinated and deoxygenated substrate analogues.

Constitutive homologous expression of phosphoglucomutase and transaldolase increases the metabolic flux of Fusarium oxysporum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background: Fusarium oxysporum is among the few filamentous fungi that have been reported of being able to directly ferment biomass to ethanol in a consolidated bioprocess.

Revisiting the Molecular Roadmap for Sugar Crops: Genome Reading, Trait Writing and Variety Redesigning

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 9, Page 5013-5040, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Sugar crops, including but not limited to sugarcane, sugar beet, sweet sorghum and stevia, are major sources of sugar production in the world. However, conventional breeding approaches, limited by long breeding cycles, low efficiency and restricted capacity to improve complex traits in sugar crops, are increasingly insufficient to address the ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 600, Issue 15, Page 2175-2192, August 2026.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Stage‐Specific Metabolic and Proteomic Dynamics Underlying Ripening and Quality Formation in Tropical Evergreen Pomegranate

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
Integrated multi‐omics reveals that pomegranate ripening between 90 and 130 days drives optimal sugar‐acid balance and pigmentation via coordinated regulation of phenylpropanoid, flavonoid, and carbohydrate metabolism pathways. ABSTRACT Pomegranate fruit development involves coordinated physiological, metabolic, and proteomic changes shaping coloration

Estradiol Replacement Modulates Synaptic Transmission‐Related Proteins in the Hippocampus of Ovariectomized Rats: An Exploratory Proteomic Approach

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 8, August 2026.
The estrogen deficiency in the hippocampus influences cognitive functions and control of food intake. Hippocampi of female rats, either control or ovariectomized, with or without estrogen replacement, were submitted to LC–MS/MS and analysis of pathway‐based functional roles of proteins affected by estrogen deficiency and replacement.

Changes in phosphorylation of chicken breast muscle in response to L-histidine introduction under low-NaCl conditions

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food, 2021
In an attempt to positively regulate meat quality at low NaCl concentration, the influence of L-histidine (L-his) introduction on the postmortem phosphorylation of chicken breast muscle protein that had been cured for 16 h at 1% NaCl was investigated at ...

SPROUTS_DB: An Implemented Database of Contaminants for Extracellular Vesicle Proteomics Studies

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, Volume 26, Issue 7, Page 69-83, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Current proteomics techniques allow rapid identification and quantification of proteins within any given biological source. However, LC–MS/MS proteomics is vulnerable to laboratory and sample‐associated contaminants. Therefore, accurate identification and annotation of such contaminants is crucial for development of reliable databases ...

Identification of Distinct Interacting Proteins of Giardia lamblia Centrins Using Yeast Two‐Hybrid Assays

open access: yesJournal of Eukaryotic Microbiology, Volume 73, Issue 4, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT Giardia lamblia, a protozoan parasite that causes diarrhea in humans, contains two centrins implicated in cellular morphology and cell division. To identify proteins interacting with each G. lamblia centrin (GlCent), we performed a yeast two‐hybrid assay.
