The hydration of phospholipids and phospholipid-cholesterol complexes
Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, 1978The hydration characteristics of phosphatidylcholines and the effect of cholesterol on these were studied with differential thermal analysis and water vapour adsorption experiments. Also the water adsorption of egg phosphatidylethanolamine and the effect of cholesterol on this was studied and compared with corresponding qualities of phosphatidylcholine.

Abstract The myofibrils were shown to be lipoprotein structures. Lipoprotein nature of these structures was confirmed by their lipid phosphorus to protein ratio in a completely dispersed myofibril preparation of the skeletal muscle cells. The ratio was found to be 49.65 ± 3.95 microgram P / mg protein.

Derivatization of phospholipids
Journal of Chromatography B, 2003Phospholipids are major components of biological membranes. Without chemical derivatization, it is difficult to identify and quantitate phospholipids in biological samples. Chemical derivatization can improve both the selectivity and sensitivity of the analytes.

The hydration of phospholipids
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1974Abstract The adsorption isotherms of egg phosphatidylcholine, egg phosphatidylethanolamine and bovine phosphatidylserine, in both their lyso and diacyl forms, have been determined in an examination of the hydration characteristics of films of these phospholipids.
