Antibiotic–Polycationic Peptide Conjugation as an Effective Strategy to Overcome Daptomycin Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance necessitates the development of new antibiotics with “resistance‐breaking” properties. In this study, conjugation of polycationic peptides is proven to represent a versatile strategy for the fast and affordable reactivation of daptomycin.

Opportunities in Therapeutic mRNA Stabilization: Sequence, Structure, Adjuvants and Vectors

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Current mRNA lipid nanoparticles rely on cold storage, which increases the cost and reduces access to the vaccines. As mRNA expands to other clinical opportunities, better methods to stabilize the medicines during shipping, storage, and delivery are needed.

The interaction of penicillins with phospholipids

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1973
Abstract The interaction of the antibiotics, penicillin G and ampicillin, with sonicated sols of phosphatidylcholine, lysophosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylserine has been examined by Sephadex gel nitration and dynamic dialysis. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy provided evidence of

Programmable NIR Responsive Nanocomposite Enables Noninvasive Intratympanic Delivery of Dexamethasone to Reverse Cisplatin Induced Hearing Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, saponin‐coated silica@gold nanocarriers responsive to NIR radiation is developed to enhance intratympanic drug delivery for cisplatin‐induced hearing loss (CIHL) treatment. The biocompatibility and oto‐protective properties are validated both in vitro and in vivo.

Effect of light on extraction of lipid from retinal rods

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1967
Chloroform-methanol 2:1 removes a significantly greater quantity of lipid from bleached bovine retinal rods than from a dark-adapted counterpart. The extracts contain phosphatidyl serine, phosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl ethanolamine, sphingomyelin ...

Programmed Fabrication of Vesicle‐Based Prototissue Fibers with Modular Functionalities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The fabrication of freestanding vesicle‐based prototissue fibers is reported. The lengths, diameters, and shapes of the fibers can be well‐controlled. Multimodular fibers with different prototissues can be fabricated. Focusing on modularity, manipulation functionalities are obtained when connected with magnetic fibers.

Effect of cholesterol in suspension on the incorporation of phosphate into phospholipid by macrophages in vitro

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1966
Macrophages obtained from the peritoneal cavity of rabbits were incubated with phosphate-32P in order to investigate the synthesis of phospholipid by these cells.
