An Abiotic Phospholipid Metabolic Network Facilitates Membrane Plasticity in Artificial Cells [PDF]

open access: yes
The plasticity of living cell membranes relies on complex metabolic networks fueled by cellular energy. Although lipid vesicles have been extensively studied, creating synthetic membranes capable of metabolic cycles remains unrealized. Here we present an

Fine structure of frozen-etched lipid granules in the fat body of an insect

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1972
Lipid storage in fat-body cells of adult female black flies was examined using freeze-etching electron microscopy. Frozen-etched lipid granules exhibited a laminated structure.

Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Relationship between phospholipid transfer protein activity and HDL level and size among inbred mouse strains

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1999
Because of the paucity of data on phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP) activity and lipoprotein phospholipid in mouse strains, plasma PLTP activity (PLTA), plasma phospholipid and cholesterol, HDL phospholipid and cholesterol, and HDL size distribution ...

Studies on phospholipids of meat

open access: yesNihon Chikusan Gakkaiho, 1966

Electrostatically‐Stabilized PEG‐Free Lipid Nanoparticles for Systemic Nucleic Acid Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes non‐PEGylated layered lipid nanoparticles (nonPEG LLNPs), a gene delivery platform that improves upon standard PEGylated LNPs via electrostatic adsorption of charged polymers. nonPEG LLNPs maintain colloidal stability under biological stresses, enhance circulation time, and mitigate accelerated blood clearance and hepatic ...
