Verteporfin‐Mediated In Situ Nanovaccine Based on Local Conventional‐Dose Hypofractionated Radiotherapy Enhances Antitumor and Immunomodulatory Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here gelatinase‐responsive methoxypolyethyleneglycol–PVGLIG–polycaprolactone (mPEG–PVGLIG–PCL) nanoparticles’ loading verteporfin (N@VP) is developed, enhancing radiotherapy via X‐ray‐triggered singlet oxygen generation. Combined with 2 Gy (gray, a radiation dose unit) irradiation, N@VP achieves antitumor efficacy comparable to 8 Gy, and also promotes ...

Preferential inhibition of paraoxonase activity of human paraoxonase 1 by negatively charged lipids

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2004
To determine the causes responsible for a preferential decrease of paraoxonase activity, which has been observed in the serum of patients with cardiovascular diseases, the inactivation or inhibition of paraoxonase 1 (PON1) by various endogenous factors ...

Revealing the Transcriptional and Metabolic Characteristics of Sebocytes Based on the Donkey Cell Transcriptome Atlas

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a comprehensive single‐cell transcriptome atlas of the Dezhou donkey, encompassing 20 tissues and 275 050 cells, is constructed. Through cross‐species and cross‐tissue analyses, distinct transcriptional patterns in donkey sebocytes are identified.

Relationship between phospholipid transfer protein activity and HDL level and size among inbred mouse strains

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1999
Because of the paucity of data on phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP) activity and lipoprotein phospholipid in mouse strains, plasma PLTP activity (PLTA), plasma phospholipid and cholesterol, HDL phospholipid and cholesterol, and HDL size distribution ...

Accumulation of Damaging Lipids in the Arf1‐Ablated Neurons Promotes Neurodegeneration through Releasing mtDNA and Activating Inflammatory Pathways in Microglia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Arf1 defects activate the AKT‐mTORC1‐SREBP1‐FASN pathway to increase lipid synthesis and disrupt ER‐mitochondrial‐lysosomal homeostasis in neurons. Impaired mitochondria secrete damaged mtDNA via mitochondria‐derived extracellular vesicles, which is phagocytosed by the microglia and activated inflammation signaling.

Substrate specificity of lipoprotein lipase and endothelial lipase: studies of lid chimeras

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2006
The triglyceride (TG) lipase gene subfamily, consisting of LPL, HL, and endothelial lipase (EL), plays a central role in plasma lipoprotein metabolism. Compared with LPL and HL, EL is relatively more active as a phospholipase than as a TG lipase.

Targeting miRNA‐1a and miRNA‐15b: A Novel Combinatorial Strategy to Drive Adult Cardiac Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The article explores a novel therapeutic strategy for cardiac regeneration by targeting miRNA‐1a and miRNA‐15b. Combinatorial inhibition of miR‐1a and miR‐15b enhances cardiomyocyte proliferation, improves heart function, and reduces fibrosis in myocardial infarction models.
