Eukaryotic Phospholipid Biosynthesis
Annual Review of Biochemistry, 1995The current status of the biochemistry of phospholipid biosynthesis is presented. The review focuses on the identification and characterization of molecular tools such as purified enzymes and cloned genes and cDNAs for those enzymes. The enzymes discussed are those involved in the biosynthesis of the major phospholipid classes, namely, phosphatidate ...

Assembly of the phospholipid bilayer of cellular membranes is a fundamental aspect of cell growth and proliferation. Phospholipids are concomitantly synthesized and inserted at the cytoplasmic surface of the endoplasmic reticulum. Following this asymmetric assembly, transmembrane movement to the lumenal leaflet of the endoplasmic reticulum must occur ...

PHOSPHOLIPIDS. PHYSICOCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF PHOSPHOLIPIDS
The article discusses the composition and physical and chemical properties of phospholipids and the study of the chemical composition of phospholipids. It also discusses the development of methods for identifying and establishing the chemical composition of phospholipids.Tashmukhamedova, Shohista +1 more

Peripheral cholesterol can be transported back to liver by acceptors, particularly HDL, for disposal. The properties of cholesterol acceptors have been studied extensively. It has been demonstrated that the ability of serum to promote cholesterol efflux from Fu5AH rat hepatoma cells correlated best with the phospholipid content of HDL.
