Bdellovibrio and like organisms (BALOs) have gained attraction owing to their ecological and practical significance. This study comparatively investigated two BALO strains from the same freshwater pond, Bdellovibrio sp. BIS2 and Bacteriovorax sp. HI3, and revealed significant variation in their predatory behaviours and associated genetic profiles ...

Age‐Dependent Metabolomic Signatures of Dietary Restriction in Mice
Elevated hepatic glutathione (GSH) and 3‐hydroxybutyrate (3‐HB) levels in all ages of mice demonstrate an enhanced protection against oxidative stress and improvement in energy metabolism during chronic dietary restriction (DR). However, high protein or muscle degradation in liver of young mice, and large accumulation of hepatic glycogen and excessive ...

Sphingolipids are vital components of cell membranes. Metabolic disruptions of sphingolipids, including ceramide and sphingosine‐1‐phosphate, are linked to neurological disorders. This article summarizes the classification, structure, and metabolic processes of sphingolipids, and the physiological and pathological effects of sphingolipid metabolism and

Synthetic trap‐peptides identify a TOM complex phosphatase – PP2A dephosphorylates Tom6
Synthetic trap‐peptides facilitate the identification of complete holoenzymes that bind to the target sequence remarkably close to the phosphorylation site. PP4 bound to, but did not dephosphorylate, the peptide substrate taken from yeast Tom6 pSer16, showing that proximity alone does not induce phosphatase activity.
