Polyaniline as a dual flame retardant and electrostatic dissipative additive in polyethylene nanocomposites

open access: yesJournal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, Volume 31, Issue 2, Page 339-355, March 2025.
Effecft of co‐doping polyaniline with phosphoric acid and phytic acid on the heat release rate of polyethylene. Abstract Polyolefins, such as polyethylene (PE), are highly flammable and electrically insulative, limiting their applicability. The study explored the flame‐retardancy and electrical conductivity of PE/polyaniline (PE/PANI) nanocomposites ...

Thermally Robust 1D Cu(I) Phosphonate Coordination Polymer Exhibiting Enhanced Proton Conductivity via Humidity‐Driven Pathways

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
The new 1D Cu(I) coordination polymer BAM‐5 shows outstanding thermal stability and strong humidity‐dependent proton conductivity. Its proton transport is enabled by uncoordinated acidic groups and a well‐developed hydrogen‐bonded network that supports both hopping and vehicular mechanisms.

Novel approaches for drug development against chronic primary pain: A systematic review

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Chronic primary pain (CPP) persisting for more than 3 months, associated with significant emotional distress without any known underlying cause, is an unmet medical need. Traditional or adjuvant analgesics do not provide satisfactory pain relief for a great proportion of these patients.

Spreading depolarization and its influence on epileptiform activity

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Spreading depolarization (SD) is a transient disruption of electrographic activity that slowly propagates through the gray matter by chemical contiguity, and it is characterized by a large depolarization of neurons and glial cells. SD, which is associated with massive changes in ion homeostasis, including extreme increases in [K+]o, was shown ...

Tuning Polyacrylate Composition to Recognize and Modulate Fluorescent Proteins

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 2, 9 January 2026.
Random hetero oligomers (RHOs) of defined compositions are synthesized and fractionated to identify the chemical design criteria (charge, length, hydrophobicity) required to achieve nanomolar binding to green fluorescent protein, resulting in >100% fluorescence increases.

Biogenic Phosphonate Utilization by Globally Distributed Diatom Thalassiosira pseudonana

open access: yesMicroorganisms
Phosphonates are a class of organic phosphorus (P) compounds that contribute ~25% of dissolved organic P. Recent studies reveal the important role of phosphonates mediated by prokaryotes in the marine P redox cycle.

Facilitated Transport of Organic Contaminants in a High Concentration, Multicomponent Plume

open access: yesGroundwater Monitoring &Remediation, EarlyView.
Abstract A field experiment evaluated the transport of organic contaminants in a plume from hazardous waste disposal areas at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. The plume contained many xenobiotic contaminants, with widely varying expected mobilities.

Harnessing benzamides as plant stress inhibitors, growth promoters and in management of crop resilience—A review

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Benzamides boost crop resilience by inhibiting poly(ADP‐ribose) polymerase (PARP) to enhance stress tolerance and, through their antimicrobial, herbicidal, and insecticidal derivatives, they offer broad protection for sustainable crop improvement. Abstract Benzamides have emerged as potent stress inhibitors and growth promoters in plant biotechnology ...
