Phosphorus application to the preceding crop of finger millet and maize significantly increased the Saloid-P, Al-P, Fe-P. RS-P and Ca-P and this effect continued during the growth of the third crop of blackgram (residual). No significant difference was observed among the different sources of P studied.

Determination of Phosphorus Fractions in Animal Protein Ingredients
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2005Phosphorus (P) is present in different chemical compounds in animal feeds, and the solubility and digestibility of these different compounds are known to differ significantly. Animal protein ingredients generally have a high P content and are major contributors to total P of feeds for fish and other domestic animals. Estimation of different P compounds

The fractionation of soil phosphorus. --.
1939By the year 1855 agriculturalists had accumulated sufficient evidence to uphold the contention that phosphorus was essential in order to support plant growth. Numerous attempts have been made since that time to fractionate the categories of phosphorus in soil, and the problem is a very important and live issue to-day.

Fractionation of phosphorus biowastes: Characterisation and environmental risk
Waste Management, 2012Phosphorus (P) fertilizer is essential for food production and is a limiting factor in crop yields. However, the role of P in the eutrophication of surface water has long been recognised. During recent years, the input of P from agriculture to surface waters has increased and has been the focus for strategies aimed at mitigating diffuse P losses.

Effect of nanoparticles on kinetics release and fractionation of phosphorus
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2015In this study, we examined the effect of nanoparticles (Al2O3 and TiO2) on kinetics release, fractionation and speciation of phosphorus (P) in some calcareous soils of western Iran. The maximum (average of five soils) (40.3 mg kg(-1)) and the minimum (10.5 mg kg(-1)) P were released by control soils and soils plus 3% TiO2, respectively.

Phosphorus solubilization in the rhizosphere in two saprolites with contrasting phosphorus fractions
Geoderma, 2020Abstract Little is known about the contribution of plants and microorganisms to the release of phosphorus (P) from minerals, despite the importance of P solubilization for plant nutrition and soil formation. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess how plants affect P solubilization and the abundance of phosphorus-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) in

Phosphorus fractionation and mobility in Loch Leven sediments
Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, 1994AbstractThis paper reports on the application of a chemical fractionation scheme for assessing the amounts, forms and potential mobility (recycling potential) of phosphorus in the sediments of the freshwater Loch Leven, which is currently highly topical in relation to eutrophication and its manifest dense, potentially toxic, blue‐green algae.

P32 distribution in phosphorus fractions of phosphorus-sensitive and -tolerant soybeans
Plant and Soil, 1970P32 incorporation into various phosphorylated compounds of roots, stems, and leaves was studied with P-sensitive (Clark) and P-tolerant (L9) varieties of soybeans. With increasing P concentration in the pretreatment solution, more P32 was incorporated into the inorganic phosphate fraction, mainly in which form P seemed to be transported from roots to ...

Global Change Biology
ABSTRACTAfforestation plays a crucial role in mitigating climate change, yet the transfer of soil phosphorus (P) to aboveground biomass may lead to soil P limitation. However, the influences of afforestation on soil P fractions and availability remain unclear.

Association of soil-test phosphorus with phosphorus fractions and adsorption characteristics
Nutrient Cycling in Agroecosystems, 2006There is incomplete understanding, based on a single comprehensive study, of the relationship between empirical extractants of soil-test P (STP) and fundamental measurements of soil-P status such as inorganic (Pi) and organic (Po) fractions, P adsorption and relevant ancillary soil attributes.
