Transport of Phosphorus and Fractionation of Residual Phosphorus in Various Horizons of a Spodosol
Water, Air, and Soil Pollution, 1999The retention and transport of P by three horizon samples (A, E, and Bh) of a Spososol (Oldsmar sand: sandy, silicious, hyperthermic Alfic Arenic Haplaquods) were evaluated using a batch-equilibration and leaching column techniques with application of P in rates equivalent to 25 and 100 kg P ha-1.

A simplified sequential, phosphorus fractionation method
1999Hedley er al. (1982) developed what has become the most widely used land modified), phosphorus (P) fractionation technique. It consists of sequential extraction of increasingly less phytoavailable P pools. Extracts are centrifuged at up to 25000 g (RCF) and filtered to 0.45 mu m to ensure that soil is not lost between extractions.

Phosphorus fractions in soil amended with organic and inorganic phosphorus sources
Canadian Journal of Soil Science, 2004Information on the P fractions in soils treated with different organic amendments is needed to better manage land application of organic amendments to agricultural soils. This study investigated the forms and distribution of P after 1, 4 and 16 wk in a Lakeland silty clay loam soil using a sequential fractionation procedure.
