Photo-fermentative biohydrogen production from corncob treated by microwave irradiation
Bioresource Technology, 2021The complex structure of corncob is the bottleneck that restricts its efficient biohydrogen production. Hence, effective treatment is an important exploration to break this limitation. The effect of microwave irradiation (MI) on photo-fermentative biohydrogen production (PFHP) process was evaluated in this paper.

Carbon catabolite repression occurrence in photo fermentation of ethanol-rich substrates
Journal of Environmental Management, 2021The paper investigates the phenomenon of Carbon Catabolite Repression occurring during photo fermentation of ethanol-rich effluents, which usually contain ethanol as main carbon source, and glycerol as secondary one. The study was conducted using mixed phototrophic cultures, adopting, as substrate, the effluent produced by the alcoholic fermentation of

A review on biohydrogen production through photo-fermentation of lignocellulosic biomass
Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery, 2020Photo-fermentation biohydrogen production is an eye-catching and environmentally friendly route that can be excellently performed at ambient conditions. Nevertheless, light conversion efficacy and photo-fermentation hydrogen production performance are still low, and hence, numerous approaches are explored to enhance biohydrogen production.

Biohydrogen production by dark and photo-fermentation processes
2013 International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC), 2013The hydrogen can be produced in a biological production process by dark and photo-fermentation of organic substrates. Under anaerobic conditions, hydrogen is produced during conversion of organic substrate into organic acids using fermentative bacteria and during conversion of organic acids into H2 and CO2 using photo- fermentative bacteria.

Enhancement effect of defoamer additives on photo-fermentation biohydrogen production process
Bioresource Technology, 2022Foaming is a key issue should be solved in the process of photo-fermentation biohydrogen production (PFHP), since it has negative influence on the hydrogen yield potential, especially when taken straw as substrate. Appropriate foam control measures must be considered for industrialization.

Hydrogen production by mixed bacteria through dark and photo fermentation
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2011Abstract Mixed bacteria were used to improve hydrogen yield from cassava starch in combination of dark and photo fermentation. In dark fermentation, mixed anaerobic bacteria (mainly Clostridium species) were used to produce hydrogen from cassava starch. Substrate concentration, fermentation temperature and pH were optimized as 10.4 g/l, 31 °C and 6.3
