Adaptive optics photoacoustic microscopy

open access: yesOptics Express, 2010
We have developed an adaptive optics photoacoustic microscope (AO-PAM) for high-resolution imaging of biological tissues, especially the retina. To demonstrate the feasibility of AO-PAM we first designed the AO system to correct the wavefront errors of the illuminating light of PAM.

Surface Acoustic Waves in Thin Films Nanometrology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Thin films nanometrology is an emerging field in nanoscience as the synthesis, processing and applications of nanostructured thin films require an in-depth knowledge of their elastic constants. The elastic energy of a surface acoustic wave propagating in

In vivo spatial-spectral photoacoustic microscopy enabled by optical evanescent wave sensing

open access: yesMedicine in Novel Technology and Devices, 2023
In addition to offering morphological visualizations via capture of the spatial distributions of optical absorption, photoacoustic imaging technology can reveal abundant physical information about biological particles, including their orientation ...

Float-polishing process and analysis of float-polished quartz [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
A fluid-mechanical model is developed for the float-polishing process. In this model laminar flow between the sample and the lap results in pressure gradients at the grooves that support the sample on a fluid layer. The laminar fluid motion also produces

Functional photoacoustic microscopy of pH [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2011
pH is a tightly regulated indicator of metabolic activity. In mammalian systems, an imbalance of pH regulation may result from or result in serious illness. In this paper, we report photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) of a commercially available pH-sensitive fluorescent dye (SNARF-5F carboxylic acid) in tissue phantoms.

Overcoming the acoustic diffraction limit in photoacoustic imaging by localization of flowing absorbers

open access: yes, 2017
The resolution of photoacoustic imaging deep inside scattering media is limited by the acoustic diffraction limit. In this work, taking inspiration from super-resolution imaging techniques developed to beat the optical diffraction limit, we demonstrate ...

Photoacoustic imaging with fiber optic technology: A review

open access: yesPhotoacoustics, 2020
Photoacoustic imaging (PAI) has achieved remarkable growth in the past few decades since it takes advantage of both optical and ultrasound (US) imaging. In order to better promote the wide clinical applications of PAI, many miniaturized and portable PAI ...
