A Novel Protein‐Polysaccharide Oral Nanoemulsion Targeting Activated Hepatic Stellate Cells to Enhance the Therapeutic Effect of Pirfenidone on Fibrosis After Transarterial Chemoembolization for Liver Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 24, June 19, 2025.
Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) may aggravate liver fibrosis. In this study, a novel oral targeting nanoemulsion is fabricated to enhance the therapeutic effect of antifibrotic drug‐pirfenidone (PFD) on fibrosis after TACE. Studies have shown that PFD nanoemulsion can enhance the oral liver targeting effect of PFD, and effectively improve the ...

Does Encapsulation of π‐Conjugated Polymer Nanoparticles within Biodegradable PEG–PLGA Matrices Mitigate Photoinduced Free Radical Production and Phototoxicity?

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2025.
Four conjugated polymers are embedded within different PEG–PLGA matrices. ROS release and cellular phototoxicity are evaluated following irradiation at 385, 455, and 656 nm. The molecular structure of the PEG–PLGA matrix does not significantly impact ROS production and release from the matrix.

Photopatch testing: Clinical characteristics, test results, and final diagnoses from the North American Contact Dermatitis Group, 2009–2020

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 91, Issue 6, Page 465-473, December 2024.
Among 454 North American patients referred for photopatch testing between 2009 and 2020, nearly 20% were diagnosed with photoallergic contact dermatitis. Sunscreens, particularly benzophenones, were by far the most common photoallergens (almost 90% of positive photopatch tests).

Clinical efficacy of intense pulsed light combined with low‐dose intralesional corticosteroids in treating noninfectious granulomas after mesotherapy: A case series analysis

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 23, Issue 5, Page 1669-1676, May 2024.
Abstract Background Mesotherapy is a popular cosmetic procedure for localized delivery of substances. However, due to the lack of standardized processes, there are potential risks of adverse reactions. Granulomas formation is one of the chronic reactions which impose significant physical and mental burdens on patients.
