Combining Fret and Super‐Resolution Microscopy Reveals Kinase Activation and Mitochondrial Activity at the Nanoscale

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BioSenSRRF is an open‐source workflow that combines conventional FRET biosensors with SRRF reconstruction to generate sub‐diffraction FRET index maps on standard microscopes. The pipeline integrates automated image registration, SRRF reconstruction, quantitative FRET index calculation, and random line‐based hotspot analysis to uncover AURKA‐dependent ...

Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) measurement by gradual acceptor photobleaching.

open access: yes, 2005
Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) is an extremely effective tool to detect molecular interaction at suboptical resolutions. One of the techniques for measuring FRET is acceptor photobleaching: the increase in donor fluorescence after complete

Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

The Improvement of the Bleaching of Peroxyformic Sugar Cane Bagasse Pulp by Photocatalysis and Photosensitization

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 1999
Presented here is a new process in two stages for bleaching peroxyformic sugar cane bagasse pulp combining photosensitization and photocatalysis. The first stage consists of an irradiation (1h), with tungsten or mercury lamps, of the pulp under alkaline ...

Controlled Reduction of Photobleaching in DNA Origami–Gold Nanoparticle Hybrids

open access: yes, 2016
The amount of information obtainable from a fluorescence-based measurement is limited by photobleaching: Irreversible photochemical reactions either render the molecules nonfluorescent or shift their absorption and/or emission spectra outside the working

Temporal Interference Stimulation Enhances Neural Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is proposed as a non‐invasive approach to enhance neural regeneration in the deep brain. Theta‐band TI modulation selectively promotes neural progenitor cell differentiation in vitro and augments hippocampal neurogenesis in amouse model of Alzheimer's disease‐like amyloidosis.

Chlorophyll Photobleaching in Pigment-Protein Complexes

open access: yes, 1986
Pigment photobleaching was performed in thylakoid membranes of Hordeum vulgare (wild type, mutant Chlorina f2, Norfluranzon treated seedlings) and in pigment-protein complexes (CP-I and LHCP) isolated from H.

Blue‐Emitting ZnSe(Te) Quantum Dots and Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
. ABSTRACT Zn‐based quantum dots (QDs) have been regarded as the most promising Cd‐free candidates for blue‐emitting applications. ZnSe QDs exhibit an ultra‐narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM), high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), and excellent environmental stability, making them ideal for blue‐violet emitters.

Friend, Not Foe: Lowered Tissue Reactivity to Long‐Term Polyimide Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The choice of optimal neural probe designs remains a major challenge in the field of neurotechnology. This study investigated the biocompatibility of several probe variations, including material, thickness, width, and implantation strategy. It highlights the clear advantage of soft polyimide probes over stiff silicon probes for better device ...
