Long-Term Outcome of Photodynamic Therapy with Systemic Chemotherapy Compared to Photodynamic Therapy Alone in Patients with Advanced Hilar Cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesGut and Liver, 2014
Background/AimsPatients with cholangiocarcinoma usually present at an advanced stage, and more than 50% of cases are not resectable at the time of diagnosis. Recently, photodynamic therapy (PDT) has been proposed as a palliative and neoadjuvant modality.

Photochemotherapy for alopecia areata

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica, 1980
Ten patients with alopecia areata (plaque type and totalis type) were treated with oral photochemotherapy. Successful results were obtained in 7 cases. No side effects were noted. Hair growth was related to the energy delivered and was not dependent on the duration of the disease. No relapses occurred after discontinuation of the treatment.

Delayed Diagnosis of Sézary Syndrome: Lessons From a Psoriasiform Presentation

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Pruritic erythroderma is not always psoriasis. Resistant cases require a broad evaluation for cutaneous lymphoma. Early, timely diagnosis prevents disease progression, improves outcomes, and enhances quality of life, highlighting the need for re‐evaluation when conventional treatments fail.

Self-assembled thermal gold nanorod-loaded thermosensitive liposome-encapsulated ganoderic acid for antibacterial and cancer photochemotherapy

open access: yesArtificial Cells, Nanomedicine, and Biotechnology, 2019
A novel nanoparticle (Au-LTSL-GA.A) uses the thermosensitive liposome (LTSL) to encapsulate ganoderic acid A (GA.A), which successfully transforms the polarity of GA.A and has excellent water solubility. The multifunctional Au-LTSL-GA.A, a self-assembled

International Expert Consensus on Defining Skin of Color and Delivering Equitable Dermatologic Care

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dermatology, Volume 65, Issue 1, Page 28-40, January 2026.
Gaps in dermatologic care for patients with skin of color (SOC), impacts and strategies to promote inclusivity. ABSTRACT Dermatological practice faces significant challenges in meeting the needs of populations with skin of color (SOC). Patients with SOC face disparities, including misdiagnoses and inequitable treatment outcomes.

A Multicenter Phase II Study on Photodynamic Therapy Using Talaporfin Sodium (ME2906) and a Semiconductor Laser (PNL6405CIN) for Intraepithelial Tumors of the Cervix

open access: yesReproductive Medicine and Biology
Purpose Conization for high‐grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN2–3) often harms obstetric outcomes. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) with talaporfin sodium provides a cervix‐sparing alternative with short photosensitivity.
