Photodynamic therapy in the esophagus

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy, 2004
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) involves in situ photo-activation of photosensitizers by light at appropriate wavelength, generating highly active singlet oxygen and free radicals. For esophageal mucosal dysplasia such as high-grade dysplasia or intramucosal cancer, curative endoluminal therapy including PDT is now a reality.

ROS Self‐Supply Nanoplatform Based on Fenton Catalyst for Chemodynamic and Immunotherapy: Reprogramming Cold Tumor Into Hot Tumor in Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional HA‐conjugated nanoplatform (HA‐PGMC) integrates CuO2, glucose oxidase, and mil‐100 to enable cascade catalytic ROS generation in tumor microenvironments. This self‐supplying ROS strategy induces immunogenic cell death, reprograms “cold” tumors into “hot” ones, and synergizes with PD‐L1 blockade, achieving potent chemodynamic ...

Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy for inactivation of biofilms formed by oral key pathogens

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2014
With increasing numbers of antibiotic-resistant pathogens all over the world there is a pressing need for strategies that are capable of inactivating biofilm-state pathogens with less potential of developing resistances in pathogens.

TME/NIR Dual‐Responsive Zinc‐Based Targeted Nanoagonist for Multimodal Amplification of STING‐Mediated Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional nanoagonist (cDZ@IP) enables nano‐metabolite–driven multimodal activation of the STING pathway and enhanced immune recognition, achieving potent antitumor immunity and suppressing tumor growth and metastasis. This strategy highlights the rational design of therapeutic metabolites and establishes a new paradigm bridging nanomedicine ...

Photodynamic therapy in Argentina

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy, 2006
The use of endogenous Protoporphyrin IX generated through the heme biosynthetic pathway after administration of 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) has led to many applications in photodynamic therapy (PDT). In Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Centro de Investigaciones sobre Porfirinas y Porfirias (CIPYP), reported for the first time, in 1975, porphyrin synthesis ...

Coagulation-balance gene predictors influencing visual prognosis in patients treated with photodynamic therapy for classic choroidal neovascularization secondary to age-related macular degeneration.

open access: yes, 2010
PURPOSE: To determine whether different coagulation-balance genetic polymorphisms explain the variable clinical outcomes of photodynamic therapy with verteporfin (PDT-V) in Caucasian patients with classic or predominantly classic choroidal ...

Nanozymes for Advanced Hemoglobin‐Based Oxygen Carriers: Applications in Blood Substitution, Wound Healing, Antitumor Therapy, and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores how hemoglobin‐based oxygen carriers (HBOCs) combined with nanozymes create multifunctional materials that deliver oxygen while maintaining redox homeostasis. Beyond artificial blood substitutes, these constructs enable wound healing with light‐triggered oxygen release, cancer therapy through enhanced oxygenation and reactive ...
