Laser‐Assisted Phase Engineering of 2D MoS2 for Efficient Solution‐Processed Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Here, local laser‐assisted phase transition from solution‐processed phase‐pure 1T′ to 2H MoS2 is shown to critically depend on the irradiation atmosphere. While processing in air leads to damaged insulating regions, inert conditions yield semiconducting 2H domains, enabling direct field‐effect transistor patterning with optimized lateral 1T′‐2H MoS2 ...

Raman scattering and photoluminescence of ZnSxTe1-x mixed crystals

open access: yes, 1998
We have investigated the Raman scattering and the photoluminescence (PL) of ZnSxTe1-x mixed crystals grown by MBE, covering the entire composition range (0 less than or equal to x < 1).

Rethinking Charge Transport and Recombination in Donor‐Diluted Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Organic solar cells with 1–45% PM6 content in Y12 were studied to link structure and charge dynamics to performance. The conductivity follows a 3D percolation model without a sharp threshold. Donor dilution preserves the photogeneration yield, but limits the fill factor due to transport resistance losses.

Phase Engineering of Atomically Precise Nanoclusters (APNCs) of Gold and Beyond

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Engineering the structural phase of materials is of paramount importance for both fundamental research and practical applications. In this Review, we summarize the recent progress in controlling the phases of atomically precise nanoclusters (APNCs) of gold, silver and copper, as well as bimetallic systems. The phase‐enabled material properties of APNCs

Large‐Scale Determination of Frontier Orbital Energies of Disordered Small‐Molecule Organic Semiconductors Using Exciplex Emission Spectra

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurately knowing the frontier orbital energies of the structurally disordered small‐molecule organic semiconductors that are used in optoelectronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes is required to rationally improve their performance. Here, we show that these energies can be deduced with a large accuracy from the peak energies of

Spectral and dynamical characterization of multiexciton complexes in CdSe/CdS/CdZnS colloidal quantum dots

open access: yesMoldavian Journal of the Physical Sciences, 2019
The kinetics of a strongly nonequilibrium state of electrons and holes excited in quantum dots by a long laser pulse in the p-states are studied using time-resolved photoluminescence. Three bands of the transient photoluminescence spectra are identified,

Formation of a broad photoluminescence band from Si+-implanted SiO2 films by varying the heating rate of rapid thermal annealing

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]Varying the heating rate of rapid thermal annealing RTA reveals a broadband shift of room-temperature photoluminescence PL in 31016 cm−2 Si+-implanted 400-nm-thick SiO2 films after RTA at 1150°C in dry nitrogen.

Photoluminescence from surface-oxidized Ge nanoclusters

open access: yes, 1998
Photoluminescence from gas-evaporated Ge nanoclusters consisting of a crystalline core encased in an oxide shell are presented. An as-grown sample shows room temperature luminescence with separate peaks around 357 and 580 nm.

Synchronizing Tunable Luminescence and Shape Morphing in a Metal Nanocluster–Enabled Hydrogel Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A nanocluster–gel platform is developed to synchronously integrate tunable luminescence and shape morphing under a single stimulus, with emission programmability encoded through cluster size modulation (Au10 → Au18). Solvent‐induced shape–optical transitions are visualized in a lotus‐shaped gel that dynamically folds and dims, enabling rapid (< 5 s ...
