A review of new methods of removing environmental pollutants: Photolysis and UV/H2O2 processes
Organic contaminants, such as dye pollutants, pharmaceutical compounds, pesticides, etc. are increasingly found in water sources, and therefore need to be controlled by modern water treatment technologies.

Fluorescent Diarylethenes With Polar Groups: Synthesis, Spectra, and Optical Microscopy Applications
Blinking green and flashing red: photo‐switchable and photo‐activatable probes emitting green and red light were prepared and applied as bioconjugates in super‐resolution optical microscopy. ABSTRACT The use of photoactivatable fluorescent diarylethenes (fDAEs) in biology‐related light microscopy has been restricted by the lack of probes having freely ...

The Stabilization of High‐Nitrogen Systems: 10 Catenated Nitrogen Chain
Improving the understanding of high‐nitrogen materials. ABSTRACT High‐nitrogen materials have attracted intense interest in recent decades due to their unique chemical, physical, and biological properties. Stabilizing high‐nitrogen materials is often challenging as they become more unstable with increasing nitrogen catenation and nitrogen mass ...

Near-Infrared Kinetic Spectroscopy of the HO_2 and C_2H_5O_2 Self-Reactions and Cross Reactions [PDF]
The self-reactions and cross reactions of the peroxy radicals HO_2 and C_2H_5O_2 and HO_2 were monitored using simultaneous independent spectroscopic probes to observe each radical species.

Ambident Reactivity in the Phenyl + NO Radical Recombination
ABSTRACT The recombination reaction of nitric oxide (NO) with radicals via its oxygen atom, rather than the more common nitrogen site, offers an intriguing pathway to the formation of oxynitrenes. The photochemical isomerization of nitroso compounds into their corresponding oxynitrenes may involve such a step.

Yields of oxidized volatile organic compounds during the OH radical initiated oxidation of isoprene, methyl vinyl ketone, and methacrolein under high-NO_x conditions [PDF]
We present first-generation and total production yields of glyoxal, methylglyoxal, glycolaldehyde, and hydroxyacetone from the oxidation of isoprene, methyl vinyl ketone (MVK), and methacrolein (MACR) with OH under high NO_x conditions.

Photochemistry of the PAH pyrene in water ice: the case for ion-mediated solid-state astrochemistry
Context. Icy dust grains play an important role in the formation of complex inter- and circumstellar molecules. Observational studies show that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are abundantly present in the ISM in the gas phase.

Bifunctional Photocatalysts: Exploiting Proximity for Enhanced Reaction Performance
This review covers the application of the bifunctional approach to photocatalysis as a means to attain (enhanced) enantioselectivity, and, more in general, as a strategy to enhance the catalytic performance through an effective use of short‐lived reaction intermediates.
