Herschel observations in the ultracompact HII region Mon R2. Water in dense photon-dominated regions (PDRs) [PDF]
International audienceContext. Monoceros R2, at a distance of 830 pc, is the only ultracompact H ii region (UC H ii) where the photon-dominated region (PDR) between the ionized gas and the molecular cloud can be resolved with Herschel.

Extending Field Limits in Nanoscale Magnetic Imaging With Metamaterial-Inspired Magnetic Flux Concentrators. [PDF]
Micrometer‐sized flower‐shaped metamaterial magnetic flux concentrators are fabricated directly around nano and micromagnetic samples, enabling local field enhancement. Integrated into magnetic sensitive photoemission electron microscopy, they extend the available magnetic field range by up to a factor of five.

A clumpy-cloud PDR model of the global far-infrared line emission of the Milky Way [PDF]
The fractal structure of the interstellar medium suggests that the interaction of UV radiation with the ISM as described in the context of photon-dominated regions (PDR) dominates most of the physical and chemical conditions, and hence the far-infrared ...

High‐Resolution, Multiproxy Speleothem Record of the 8.2 ka Event From Mainland Southeast Asia
Abstract The 8.2 ka event is the most significant global climate anomaly of the Holocene epoch, but a lack of records from Mainland Southeast Asia (MSEA) currently limits our understanding of the spatial and temporal extent of the climate response.

Line profiles of water for the photon dominated region and embedded sources in the S140 region [PDF]
H(2)O is a key ingredient in many interstellar environments, like photon dominated regions and star forming clouds. It plays an important role in the oxygen chemistry and can act as a coolant in dense interstellar clouds and shocks.

A multiwavelength study of the S 106 region
The O star S 106 IR powers a bright, spatially extended $10'\times 3'$ ($1.75\times 0.5$ pc at a distance of 600 pc) photon dominated region (PDR) traced by our observations of FIR fine structure lines and submm molecular transitions.

CI emission from the outflow and PDR in S140 [PDF]
We present high resolution maps (10-14 arcsec FWHM) of the atomic carbon (CI) 3P1 → 3P0(492.1607 GHz) fine structure line and the C17O J = 3 → 2 (337.0611 GHz) rotational line from the outflow and photon-dominated region (PDR) in S 140.

Sensitivity of PDR Calculations to Microphysical Details [PDF]
Our understanding of physical processes in photodissociation regions or photon-dominated regions (PDRs) largely depends on the ability of spectral synthesis codes to reproduce the observed infrared emission-line spectrum.

Periodontitis and metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease
Abstract Objective Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease with systemic effects that extend beyond the oral cavity and contribute to systemic immune and metabolic dysregulation. Chronic liver diseases, particularly metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and its progressive phenotypes, have emerged as major global ...
