Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Light storage and control of photon-photon interactions in a cold Rydberg gas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The effect of strong interatomic interactions on an optical field stored in Rydberg states of a cold atomic gas is investigated. Due to their large dipole moments Rydberg atoms interact very strongly with each other.

Collective Enhancement of Photon Blockade via Two-Photon Interactions

open access: yesPRX Quantum
Photon blockade—the suppression of multiphoton transmission by quantum nonlinearities—enables on-demand nonclassical light, but it typically requires strong single-emitter coupling and does not improve by simply adding more emitters.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Photon momentum transfer and partitioning: from one to many

open access: yesNature Communications
The transfer of photon momentum is indispensable in initiating and directing light-matter interactions, which underpins a plethora of fundamental physical processes from laser cooling to laser particle acceleration.

Storing single photons emitted by a quantum memory on a highly excited Rydberg state

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
The state of a single photon can be stored as a Rydberg excitation using electromagnetically induced transparency, and this enables nonlinear interactions at the single-photon level.

The $$\pi \eta $$ interaction and $$a_0$$ resonances in photon–photon scattering [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2020
AbstractWe revisit the information on the two lightest$$a_0$$a0resonances andS-wave$$\pi \eta $$πηscattering that can be extracted from photon–photon scattering experiments. For this purpose we construct a model for theS-wave photon–photon amplitudes which satisfies analyticity properties, two-channel unitarity and obeys the soft photon as well as the ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Cavity QED with Multilevel Atoms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The steady-state transmission spectrum of a cavity with two modes of orthogonal polarization strongly coupled to a single atom with multiple Zeeman states is computed. Effects due to cavity birefringence and atomic ac-Stark shifts are included.

Strong laser fields and their power to generate controllable high-photon-number coherent-state superpositions

open access: yes, 2021
Recently, intensely driven laser-matter interactions have been used to connect the fields of strong laser field physics with quantum optics by generating non-classical states of light.
