Scattering-Based Geometric Shaping of Photon-Photon Interactions

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
We construct an effective Hamiltonian of interacting bosons, based on scattered radiation off vibrational modes of designed molecular architectures. Making use of the infinite yet countable set of spatial modes representing the scattering of light, we obtain a variable photon-photon interaction in this basis.

Soft photon yield in nuclear interactions

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
First results of the study of a soft photon yield in nucleus-nucleus collisions at 3.5 GeV per nucleon at Nuclotron (LHEP, JINR) are presented. These photons are registered by an BGO electromagnetic calorimeter built by the SVD-2 Collaboration.

Photon-Neutrino Interactions

open access: yes, 2004
We discuss the interaction of photons with neutrinos including two lepton loops. The parity violation in the gamma-nu to gamma-nu channel due to two lepton loops is substantially enhanced relative to the one lepton loop contribution.

Single-photon nonlinear optics with a quantum dot in a waveguide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Strong nonlinear interactions between photons enable logic operations for both classical and quantum-information technology. Unfortunately, nonlinear interactions are usually feeble and therefore all-optical logic gates tend to be inefficient.

Photon-Photon and Photon-Hadron Interactions at Relativistic Heavy Ion Colliders

open access: yes, 1998
In central collisions at relativistic heavy ion colliders like the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider RHIC/Brookhaven and the Large Hadron Collider LHC (in its heavy ion mode) at CERN/Geneva, one aims at detecting a new form of hadronic matter --- the Quark

The Structure of the Virtual Photon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Measurements of dijet cross sections for virtual photons are presented as a function of $\xo$, the fraction of the virtual photon energy invested in the production of the dijet system, using the ZEUS detector.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

The photon blockade effect in optomechanical systems

open access: yes, 2011
We analyze the photon statistics of a weakly driven optomechanical system and discuss the effect of photon blockade under single photon strong coupling conditions.

Photon momentum transfer and partitioning: from one to many

open access: yesNature Communications
The transfer of photon momentum is indispensable in initiating and directing light-matter interactions, which underpins a plethora of fundamental physical processes from laser cooling to laser particle acceleration.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
