Rho production with polarized photons

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1968
Abstract The process γ + P → P + ϱ 0 → P + π + + π - has been studied with polarized photons between 2.0 and 2.5 GeV. Decay pions and recoil proton were detected with a wire plane system. We find a strong preference for ϱ 0 -decay parallel to the polarization vector, expressed by the ratiom σ ⊥ / σ | = 0.17 ± 0.07, which indicates the ...

Biodegradable and Recyclable Luminescent Mixed‐Matrix‐Membranes, Hydrogels, and Cryogels based on Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks and Biopolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Light hidden photon production in high energy collisions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
The visible and dark sectors of particle physics can be connected via the kinetic mixing between the ordinary (γ) and hidden photon (γ ′ ). If the latter is light its production in high energy collisions of ordinary particles occurs via the γ − γ ...

Pair production of neutralinos via photon-photon collisions

open access: yes, 2000
We investigated the production of neutralino pairs via photon-photon collisions in the minimal supersymmetric model(MSSM) at future linear colliders. The numerical analysis of their production rates is carried out in the mSUGRA scenario. The results show

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Photon-Photon and Photon-Hadron Interactions at Relativistic Heavy Ion Colliders

open access: yes, 1998
In central collisions at relativistic heavy ion colliders like the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider RHIC/Brookhaven and the Large Hadron Collider LHC (in its heavy ion mode) at CERN/Geneva, one aims at detecting a new form of hadronic matter --- the Quark

Two-Photon Processes at Intermediate Energies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Exclusive hadron production processes in photon-photon collisions provide important tests of QCD at the amplitude level, particularly as measures of hadron distribution amplitudes and skewed parton distributions.

Positive‐Tone Nanolithography of Antimony Trisulfide with Femtosecond Laser Wet‐Etching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A butyldithiocarbamic acid (BDCA) etchant is used to fabricate various micro‐ and nanoscale structures on amorphous antimony trisulfide (a‐Sb2S3) thin film via femtosecond laser etching. Numerical analysis and experimental results elucidate the patterning mechanism on gold (reflective) and quartz (transmissive) substrates.

Dynamical Casimir effect in stochastic systems: photon-harvesting through noise

open access: yes, 2017
We theoretically investigate the dynamical Casimir effect in a single-mode cavity endowed with a driven off-resonant mirror. We explore the dynamics of photon generation as a function of the ratio between the cavity mode and the mirror's driving ...
